I’ve heard all those statements. After Kobe died there were a lot of well intentioned comments by his acquaintances. Many of the greats like Magic and Kareem are humble. They aren’t evaluating relative position among the greats, they are speaking about how great some of the top players of all time are. Kobe is a top 10-15 all time player. Those comments by his fellow greats mean nothing more than that.
