The WNBA officially started hosting live games in 1997. This was roughly 29 years ago. From that time until now, I can’t recall a single interview between @stephenasmith @colincowherd or @dpshow with a player from the @WNBA Five Commissioners and more than 1,200 players have passed through the WNBA over the past 29 years. I can’t recall a single instance where Dan Patrick, Colin Cowherd, or Stephen A. Smith invited a Commissioner from the WNBA to any of their platforms for interviews to grow and to support the league. Black women have scraped and clawed for decades to make this league successful. The average salary in the WNBA in 1997 was $28,000. They scraped and clawed. When there were 100 fans in the stands, they scraped and clawed. When tickets to games were free, they scraped and clawed. This league was built on the backs of black women. ————————————————— They did all of this with no support from Dan Patrick, Stephen A. Smith, or Colin Cowherd. I don’t even recall a single instance of any of these paid puppets running WNBA highlights on their platforms over a 29 year period. Now………..now that the league is on fire. Now the league is rapidly growing throughout the U.S., Europe, and Canada. Now that arenas are packed throughout the country. Now that these black women are finally receiving the compensation that they deserve……now….these controlled puppets are talking about the WNBA on national television, and/or via podcasts, and 90% of what they have to say is negative. They are tearing these black women down……by design. Stephen A. Smith is so ignorant as it relates to the WNBA that when ordered by his bosses to repeat the false narratives about Alyssa Thomas via ESPN, he referred to her as Alyssa Boston. The man did not even know her name! Dan Patrick suddenly wants to interview the league’s Commissioner for the first time in 29 years so that he can placate his audience, which consists of 90% white males who do not watch the WNBA. Why is this? I am certain that he doesn’t want to ask about the historic crowds in Montreal. He doesn’t want to discuss the rapid success of new expansion teams. He doesn’t want to talk about young stars who are blossoming, and carrying the WNBA to new heights. No, he wants to discuss white victimhood, and the “perceived” sufferings of one white player as this would appease his audience. Colin Cowherd, a MAGA clown who has stated on his show that he will not watch the WNBA outside of Caitlin Clark, now suddenly has time to discuss the WNBA regularly, and again, every segment is putting black women in the WNBA down, and elevating one white player. ————————————————— A word for Colin, Stephen A., and Dan Patrick: Kick rocks. The WNBA doesn’t need you. The WNBA doesn’t need to be used as fodder and gossip material for your ratings. As for interviews, the WNBA’s Commissioner owes each of you exactly what you have given the WNBA over the past 29 years: Nothing.
