⚠️ @session_app vient d'annoncer un risque de fermeture pour le 8 juillet 2026 faute de financement. L'équipe salariée s'est déjà arrêtée le 9 avril. Il ne reste que des bénévoles. Pourtant Session c'est : 1,7 million d'utilisateurs actifs. Chiffrement E2E, routage en onion, zéro numéro de téléphone, zéro métadonnée. L'une des rares messageries vraiment anonymes. Le budget demandé pour survivre : 1 million $ par an. À titre de comparaison, c'est le salaire combiné de 2 cadres chez les GAFAM. L'écosystème privacy risque de perdre un outil utile à tous.

We need more than 1 option for private messengers. I don't want to see @session_app disappear, especially now that they have PFS on their roadmap. I hope that they remain alive.

"Telegram has never done this — and never will" True. Telegram has never offered E2EE in groups or channels, and still refuses to enable it by default in DMs—while calling itself the secure alternative to WhatsApp. It's like debating which cigarette brand is healthiest.

New class-action lawsuit just dropped: Meta secretly let employees, contractors like Accenture, and third parties read, intercept, and store your private messages WITHOUT consent. All while marketing it as “only you and the recipient can read it.” Zuck lied to billions. Your chats were never safe.

Just asking for a friend, but does it really matter to most people with nothing to hide, nothing that someone else who doesn’t know you sees, is it that bigger deal? What is it that I need to be so worried about? Should I cancel my air miles account, M&S card, HSBC credit card, my loyalty card at my local bar? Not sure this is applicable to us ordinary folk, or is it?
