I think that Hal’s best era is the Bronze Age. Dennis O'Neil, Wolfman, Mike Bar, Len wein, legendary writers with good runs. Even Englehart had a nice run (before his questionable GLC run). Also beautiful art by Joe Staton, Neal Adams, Mike Grell and Dave Gibson.

I really do love Hal a lot. Even when his more evil stans give me endless grief. That’s my Intergalactic Lawman. Silver Age creativity personified. Bronze Age complexity paved his way forward

Hampton (and Adams before him) managed to do something no GL comic before them has managed… making Sinestro boring. What used to be a driving force in any GL story is know a background element throwing in a worthless comment every couple of pages

@Rememberfright This is why I was worried about him bringing back Sora. I knew he wasn’t gonna treat it with the respect it deserved. They just expect you to accept her working with an alt universe katma and not question why she’s here because it’s a cool concept. But it has no weight to it.

No arc, no motive, none of his drama and personality. This panel is the first time Sinestro, Soranik, and Katma are together and it has no emotion, no drama, no interest twist on these character’s roles over the years. Nothing. You can’t even see their faces

They actually changed the cover for the second volume of Absolute Green Lantern! Someone at DC saw my tweet 😭 This one is much better and more thematic to this particular arc.

It’s cool art and all but this choice as the cover of Abs GL vol. 2 is very confusing. It says nothing of the story. No clue why they chose a variant as cover. So many other covers could have been better. Put me in that marketing department DC
