I'm not even talking about extinction. It might just never become a major cultural value; its extremely expensive and space is almost all immediately lethal to humans. We have existed in various societies for over 100,000 years without becoming a space-faring civilization.

Pessimism has really gripped the left, damn. Koseman is just plain wrong, and the chance of humanity somehow not becoming spacefaring in terms of living beyond earth's orbit would require a complete extinction event which, as much as people don't realize, is not very likely.






The problem with birth control and its effects on women's brains is that, as far as we know, the effects are permanent. The shrinking of the ventromedial prefrontal cortex--which regulates fear and emotional control--is not reversed by cessation.
