We’re investing $78,000 through the Fire Protection Grant to ensure firefighters in Pickering-Uxbridge have the resources needed to expand cancer-prevention initiatives and key infrastructure upgrades.

Police and Fire responded to a collision in the area of Wagg Road and Highway 47 in Uxbridge.
While on scene, three firefighters were struck by an approaching vehicle. All three have been transported to a Toronto-area hospital with serious injuries. A driver involved in the original collision was also transported to a Toronto-area hospital in stable condition.
Additional information will be provided as it becomes available. The roadway is expected to remain closed for an extended period.
Road conditions continue to be extremely hazardous. Please avoid travel unless necessary.

Sat. Feb. 1st from 8:30a.m. - 2p.m., Uxbridge Fire Department will be conducting ice and water rescue training on Elgin Pond. Fire Trucks will be parked in the area. Help our firefighters focus on their training by avoiding the area and staying off the ice where they are working.
