Having race based data allowed us to quantify huge differences in covid-19 rates, hospitalization and death by race. We can use the same type of data to ensure that our recovery is equitable. An anti-racist approach could help us deal with systemic problems causing disparities.

Black Canadians are more likely to have lost income during covid-19; more likely to be struggling financially and be in poverty even though 31% of Black women are working in health care. We need to focus on the Black population during the recovery www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/daily-quoti…

Door-to-door testing in Toronto Community Housing seniors buildings coupled with local outreach to provide services to enable isolation. It’s an improved model that starts with door-to-door multilingual outreach, followed days later with testing, followed-up with wellness checks

The death of Yassin Dabeh, a 19 year old cleaner who worked at a for-profit #LTC home, tells us we live in a dystopian world where the privileged ‘stay home’ while low income essential workers die because they have to work without paid sick leave or adequate PPE. RIP. #COVID19
