That's good parenting, the kid may hate it now, but when he's 30 or 40 he is going to look back at it and thank his mom for teaching him correctly. When I was young I hated it but as I got older, I was grateful because it taught me to be respectful, responsible and hard working. I can't thank my parents enough for those lessons and discipline. There are times I wish that they had disciplined me more than they did because there are some traits that I have, that I wish were driven out of me when I was young.

A 7 year old girl who is shopping with her mother flips off an elderly man who she thinks is moving too slow. The elderly man calls her rude when the mother jumps in defending her daughter. She thinks her daughter’s behavior is acceptable because she’s “just a kid”. Who is in the wrong here and did the elderly man go too far by calling her rude. When does it cross the line of a child acting out.
