More time for Veterans, less typing for providers! VA Augusta is introducing Ambient Artificial Intelligence (AI) Scribe in its Primary Care services - a new tool that helps your provider capture notes during a visit so you have one-on-one time with your provider.

More than 125 people joined VA Augusta's "Welcome Home" celebration honoring Vietnam Veterans today, which featured guest speaker retired Army Chief Warrant Officer 5 Dennis Dupuis, a two-tour Vietnam helicopter pilot, the 282D Army Band, and the Laney High School JROTC.

APRIL 30: Join VA Augusta Health Care System and the Veterans Benefits Administration for a McCormick County Veterans Town Hall on April 30. The VA health care and benefits outreach event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, April 30, at the W.S. Mims Recreation Center at 516 Mims Drive in McCormick, South Carolina. VA leadership will address local Veterans’ questions and VA benefits and healthcare professionals will on site to enroll and provide support to Veterans with the care and services they’ve earned.

National Former Prisoner of War (FPOW) Recognition Day is observed annually on April 9 to honor American servicemen and women who endured captivity as prisoners of war (POWs). Established in 1988, this day commemorates the 1942 surrender of U.S. and Filipino forces on the Bataan Peninsula during World War II, which led to the brutal Bataan Death March. This solemn observance recognizes the sacrifice and resilience of the 60,000 to 80,000 troops who were captured, as well as the thousands who lost their lives during captivity.
