LIVE: Governor Glenn Youngkin highlights actions taken to strengthen nursing home oversight and provides an update on progress made since issuing Executive Order 52 facebook.com/share/v/186G1F…

In December 2022 we launched Right Help, Right Now to transform a behavioral health system that was badly broken and failing to meet Virginians where they were and deliver the care they needed in moments of crisis. Three years later, we’re able to celebrate real results: ✅ Fentanyl deaths down 59% ✅ 988 engagement up more than fivefold ✅ Mobile Crisis Teams tripled, responding 24/7 statewide ✅ Crisis care capacity will more than triple statewide ✅ Thousands more families accessing care where they live, learn, and work Together we are allowing Virginians to reclaim stability and hope by serving them with dignity and urgency. What we celebrated today isn’t the end of the work, but a foundation for the future.

The new Horizon Behavioral Health Crisis Receiving Center in Lynchburg is another milestone of our Right Help, Right Now effort focused on ensuring Virginians receive care when they need it. In the three years since launching Right Help, Right Now, we’ve increased the number of chairs and beds available for Virginians experiencing a mental or behavioral health crisis by more than 340%. This new center will be able to serve 32 of our fellow Virginians at any given time — a significant increase in capacity for this type of facility. This transformation is the result of incredible teamwork with state, local, and private partners. By working together and staying focused on the mission, we can move mountains. Here in Lynchburg and across the Commonwealth, that’s exactly what we’ve done.
