Day 4⃣ of our #Spring2026ShortCourse offered a rich and thought-provoking programme. We began with a session on #NuclearSecurity, followed by an in-depth examination of the prohibitions of attacks on nuclear facilities⚛️. The afternoon focused on #EmergingTechnologies 🤖 and the evolving prospects of #ArmsControl. The day concluded with an engaging #AlumniPanel, bringing valuable insights and perspectives from our alumni community 🤝

Day 3⃣ of our #Spring2026ShortCourse is in full swing! ⚛️ We kicked off the day at the VCDNP with a lecture on the #DPRK’s🇰🇵 nuclear weapons programme. From there, the group headed to the #VIC for a lecture on the work of the #CTBTO, before getting a behind-the-scenes look with #tours of both the @CTBTO and the @iaeaorg to see how these organisations operate in practice.🌍🔎

Day 2⃣ of our #2026SpringShortCourse! ⚛️ We started the day with a lecture on #NWFZ, wrapping up our discussions on the global nuclear non-proliferation system 🌍 before diving deep into #Safeguards and the work of the @iaeaorg — from its #evolution to #implementation and #verification case studies. 🔍

We are delighted to welcome our new #JapanChair Fellow, @sanaaalv! 🎉 Sanaa joined the VCDNP this March and is also a Research Associate at @CAPS_INDIA in New Delhi.🌏 Prior to this, she was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the @iaeaorg, and previously also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at @JamesMartinCNS.⚛️ Her research interests include #NuclearNonproliferation, #NuclearEnergy, and #NuclearDiplomacy. The celebrations continued with a 15th anniversary reception hosted by the @MFA_Austria 🇦🇹. Yesterday we celebrated 15 years of the @VCDNP by holding our annual diplomatic workshop and bringing together 50+ ambassadors and senior diplomats in #Vienna 🇦🇹 to discuss #multilateral #diplomacy in an era of rapid global change. The upcoming #NPTRevCon, non-testing norm, AI and nuclear security were at the center of the dialogue.
