@AaronHectorCFP Is it oddly good or bad to switch to dividend stocks? In terms of tax, dividend income has dividend tax credit while interest income doesn’t.

I really hope it doesn’t need to be said, but swapping a 5.5% GIC upon maturity for a 5.5% yielding dividend stock is odd. 2 very different products with different risk and return characteristics, other than potentially the yield (which is taxed differently).
