@ginestopo @ASychov So I think Apple is taking the right approach with creating a Headset that everyone would want (Hopefully) but not everyone can afford. And then in the future as the prices go down, more and more people would get into VR/AR because they heard good things about Vision Pro.

@ASychov You are potencially right. Nevertheless, IMO no matter how good Vision Pro as long as there's a price barrier that will prevent masses to acquire it. I am tired of saying that lowering prices is the only way to make people try an unfamiliar device like those.

While examples of use of Quest 3 mixed reality look cool on videos, it won't end up being actually actively used in the long run by users due to still present visual and usability imperfections. It is a great test and glimpse of the future device but not THE Device. The main use case of Quest 3 is better FOV, lenses and resolution VR gaming and not a mixed reality. The first device which people will truly want to use for mixed reality will be Vision Pro.
Ben Geskin@BenGeskin

We can already see what features people like the most in mixed reality with Meta Quest 3. I'm sure Apple and the developers are watching closely. As I noted, currently these are: 1. Virtual monitors for your computer 2. Browser window floating near you 3. Gaming in your room But this is only the first two weeks that Quest 3 is available, let's see what other features people will like. #MetaQuest3 #Quest3 #MetaQuest #MixedReality #MR #AR #VR #AppleVisionPro

@ginestopo @ASychov I disagree with the price argument. Even if you gave out Quest 3 for free, most people would try it once and put it away. As amazing as Quest 3 is, it only appeals to the VR enthiusiasts like us who don't mind the technical limitations.

@magheru_san @catalinmpit You make it sound like someone can evaluate code without ever reading a single book/tutorial on coding and without ever writing a single line of code.

@VDimension4 @catalinmpit It's a different skill, you need to read, understand and evaluate code and give feedback on how to improve it But no need to know in detail the syntax and all the APIs or libraries relevant to your project Like being a DJ great at mixing music without playing any instrument

A friend I haven't met since last year told me today that he stopped learning how to code because of AI. He said he heard that AI can do the job of junior developers nowadays. So it's not worth it anymore. Tried to convince him otherwise, but he wasn't having it. This is why I don't like people who promote fearmongering and say stupid things for clicks.

@magheru_san @catalinmpit How can you understand and evaluate code if you don't learn how to code? You need to understand things like loops, data structures, object orientated programming, design patterns etc. to be able to write good code. And you need to code a lot to truly understand all these concepts

@magheru_san @catalinmpit Well, you need to be able to code to review code so no, he's not right. He can use ChatGPT to generate simple code, but he'll still need to understand what good coding is to be able to review it all.

@catalinmpit He's right, there's not much point in learning how to code as in typing the code yourself. I barely type code nowadays, the AI writes most of it based on my prompts. But I need to read and understand all that code it generated. It's another skill but results in 2-5x more code.

@RobertJALA I guess these joyful things won't be so joyful to you, hence why you decided to not have babies. It all comes down to personal preference. Some people love Chess while others find it extremely boring etc.

@RobertJALA I think a lot of people here are not answering the question the right way. Put it simply, different people like different things. Most people want to have kids and all the joyful experiences that come with that, which for them will outweigh the not so fun ones.

A week or so ago my cousin called me to tell me his girlfriend is pregnant. I suppose I'm happy for him, but I just keep asking myself why anyone would have kids. Like is there a legitimately good reason to have kids? Just seems like a financial and emotional burden.

Developer coded entire game on a single file 623k lines of code file, game sells 30k copies on Steam. Do I think it’s kind of bad to have that single file? A bit, but this is awesome because it proves it doesn’t matter. Do your thing reddit.com/r/ProgrammerHu… #gamedev

@MartinJudge10 @RnaudBertrand Phillipines, Vietnam and Indonesia yes. Thailand not so much, it has been struggling for the last decade, growth averaging around 3% which is tragic for a developing country. Too much reliance on tourism I guess, which has limited growth opportunities.

@RnaudBertrand Please note @RnaudBertrand that China over took US and EU circ 2012. Now watch India catch up and pass EU. Watch the general boom in South East Asian economies such as the Philippines and Thailand. Net zero policies will just accentuate this Western European relative decline.

What a chart in the FT: China is now as big as the US and the EU **COMBINED** (!) in terms of manufacturing value added (a measure of the net-output of all manufacturing activity in a country). Just 15 years ago it was smaller than either one of these 2. Crazy fast change!

December energy bill £360 :-o. Well it was freezing and after a certain amount of that we caved and used the heating for a bit. Plus had the youth return for a Christmas and they used more of everything.

@eToro Just like professional poker players want to play against bad recreational ones to earn more money, professional traders want to trade against average joes to increase their income. E-Toro enables that. Winners in the end: E-Toro from commissions, professional traders

@RaveofRavendale I would of blurred his username. I think as a business person you need to keep responses helpful rather than inflammatory and derogatory - no matter how low the other person sinks. I assume you are not posting this to promote your game, and was just cheeky.
