#BurkhOccur project DAY 3 Final day - 10 sites collected - 160 soil samples. Now to get back to the lab to try to find Burkholderia pseudomallei in some of these. Culture + qPCR done in parallel 🤞🏻 I will be back in 3 months for season 2! #melioidosis

Turns out I am not the only one who noticed e.g. Gravel et al. 2023 Learning to Fake It: Limited Responses and Fabricated References Provided by ChatGPT for Medical Questions. "(...) 69% citations were fabricated, although they appeared real".

Having fun (or not) arguing with chat GPT that I thought might be helpful in doing a literature review, but turned out is making up citations 🤨 Kornelisse M. does not exist, citation number in BMC is about rotavirus, title is made up. I mean what the heck!?? #AcademicChatter

#WMC24 I particularly enjoyed this presentation from Ivan Tak Fai Wong. Amazing results from an environmental study in a melioidosis hotspot in Hong Kong. Interesting to see the air samples being positive up to 3 days after rain+wind
