@CombatCr Thanks! You're welcome. I absolutely adore Fright Night, but it still wasn't an easy choice. Great year for horror movies.

@VHSRevival Great list and honourable mentions! Much as I love it, Fright Night is probably the only one I’d push back on (I prefer your honourable mentions there!) but still, can see the case! Thanks for an enjoyable read

Rewatching a Joe Dante movie this afternoon that I haven't seen since the glory days of VHS.

This morning's rewatch, and a horror flick that I seem to enjoy just that little bit more each time around.

@VHSRevival Hey, happy to see this … I’ll have to check it out! Always a pleasure when a modern movie boasts no-nonsense genre storytelling and efficient runtimes. 😄

@SkinTrader2 I absolutely love it. The moment where Dudikoff's stunt double stands-in for a completely innocuous scene and stares directly into the camera for ages is the icing on the cake 😁

@VHSRevival Glorious nonsense. One of my all time favourite flicks from the VHS era.

@VHSRevival Yep. I actually think the NoES remake is a better movie, and that's a sentence that I definitely never expected to type!

@IamKaleid I love the original ANOES. It's flawed but grungy, cerebral, innovative (especially considering the budget) & extremely resourceful. It was also a hell of a concept & influential going forward. I like elements of the first two sequels & New Nightmare, but the original is unique.

@VHSRevival Do you think it was a casualty of its era? I feel that if the concept had originally come about in the 'gritty' 00s or later it would have maintained its scariness and darkness, rather than being farmed out for tweens. But then, we wouldn't have had Englund
