F-16 used in tech risk reduction for the F-35. Diverted Supersonic Inlet

This is very interesting stuff... Notable that the F-35 made it home. Most surface-to-air interceptors launched by long-range systems have massive warheads (~320 lbs). I don't think Fat Amy could eat one of those in stride — so what was the interceptor?

People forget the missile test where it did basically nothing to the jet.

Iran just released footage reportedly showing one of its air defense systems successfully hitting an American F-35.

🇺🇸 US theater ballistic missile defense production: SM-6: 125/year PAC-3 MSE: 620/y Talon (THAAD): 96/y SM-3 IB: 36-48/y (capacity for 60/y) SM-3 IIA: 24/y As always production≠procurement, but these are the ones that are being actively procured. GBI production concluded and PAC-2 GEM-T is not procured by the Army anymore despite remaining in production.

Yes, it has been 4 years. In that time PAC-3 MSE production has increased by 100%. PAC-2 GEM-T probably by around 50%. This year over 1000 PATRIOT interceptors will likely be produced, compared to a few hundred Aster 30s. This disparity will continue to grow wider, with MBDA Germany opening up a GEM-T production line and Lockheed Martin scaling MSE to 2000 per year.
