Given it has been nearly two weeks and I have not been able to regain access to my account, I think it is probably time to call it quits. RIP.

Something looks VERY sus with this. > Sensor appears cooled, dynamic range set window oddly for sky? > Resolving AB plume details? > No secondary plume luminance against smooth background of space, should have some shimmer and effects visible immediately > Sensor bloom wrong.

Iran just released footage reportedly showing one of its air defense systems successfully hitting an American F-35.

This is the reason why I will never give up blasting stupid takes like this. A drone flying at low speed with a fraction of the payload of a TLAM is not replacing TLAM… stuff cost money for a reason for the sake of God!
Furkan Gözükara@FurkanGozukara

This is insane. The new $35k drone has the exact same optical terrain-scanning tech as a $2.5M Tomahawk missile. If GPS is jammed, it literally looks at the ground to navigate. The era of multi-million dollar missiles is over.

As always, initial reports fragmentary and often wrong. Do not lose your minds about today’s F-35 happenings until further information comes out. Then you can lose what of your mind you’ve got left, maybe.

Breaking from @halbritz @OrenCNN : A US F-35 fighter jet made an emergency landing at US air base in the Middle East after it was struck by what is believed to be Iranian fire, according to two sources familiar with the matter. Capt. Tim Hawkins, a spokesman for US Central Command, said the fifth-generation stealth jet was “flying a combat mission over Iran” when it was forced to make an emergency landing. Hawkins said the aircraft landed safely, and the incident is under investigation “The aircraft landed safely, and the pilot is in stable condition,” Hawkins added. The incident would be the first time Iran has hit a US aircraft in the war started in late February. Both the US and Israel are flying F-35s in the conflict; the aircraft costs upwards of $100 million.

🇺🇸 The Missile Defense Agency has awarded Raytheon a $8.4 billion contract modification for SM-3 sustaining engineering and product support (SE&PS), increasing the currently authorized ceiling to $11.7 billion. This amendment addresses an increase in requirements due to munitions acceleration activities [...] that were not incorporated in the previous cost estimates.
