The countdown is on—the fifth annual Compete to Win campaign begins in less than one month! March 24–26, get ready for three exciting days dedicated to championing VMI’s Division I athletic programs.

In October, Kouri Crump ’26, VMI football player, was named the recipient of the prestigious Defender of the Nation Award. Crump, his family, and select teammates attended the Bronko Nagurski Banquet, where he was officially presented with the award Monday, Dec. 8, 2025.

The Keydet Club Board of Governors presented the 2025–26 Three-Legged Stool Award to Cadet Dyson Dunham '26, VMI wrestling team member, in recognition of his successes as a cadet-athlete across all three legs of the stool: Athletics, academics, and military.

On Saturday, Feb. 7, the VMI Keydet Club hosted its annual Keydet Club Scholarship Banquet. This is a special opportunity for scholarship representatives and cadet-athletes to come together and celebrate the power of philanthropy.

Former Keydet basketball players and coaches from the 1976 and 1977 teams returned to Lexington in January to celebrate a unique occasion: The 50th anniversary of the 1976 and 1977 teams, which reached the NCAA tournament’s Elite Eight in 1976 and the Sweet Sixteen in 1977.
