I miss the kind of isekai where people were transported as they were to another world, and they had to begin from nothing, as they are. They had to grow. They were themselves, but also a better version of themselves by the end of it. Then by the end, they usually had to go back home and leave all the 'good stuff' behind to face reality while carrying their new personal growth. I really wonder why stories aren't ever written like that anymore, it used to be so fun and exciting... We lost the sauce that retro anime had...
