Bulgaria & North Macedonia agreed to advance work on Corridor VIII. A key project connecting the Adriatic Sea with the Black Sea via road & rail. This is an important step to build trust through regional connectivity, shared prosperity & people to people contacts.

Important message from our Ambassador in BiH

Glad to deliver the keynote speech at today’s conference, "Engaging municipalities & cities in the EU🇪🇺accession process in BiH🇧🇦". Municipalities and cities play a unique and essential role in advancing the European integration process, as well as distributing EU funds. The EU makes available significant resources for all levels of government, especially through the Growth Plan. The Growth Plan represents an opportunity for all in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but it's an opportunity that needs to be used. There is a cost to inaction. BiH is currently the only Western Balkans partner that has not submitted a finalised Reform Agenda. We urge the Council of Ministers at tomorrow's session to break the deadlock. 🇪🇺🤝🇧🇦 @Direkcija_EI @SOGFBiH @sogrs_alvrs

Today, during a meeting hosted by the Commission, BG and MK committed to further cooperate and finalise the construction of the Corridor VIII railway connection. This is a positive development, the railway corridor is critical for both countries, the EU and the Western Balkans.
