@pathofexile @kiwijuicing Get women out of gaming. We don't need their influence, and it's honestly annoying. They aren't the key demographic, and are nothing but a net negative. Stop pandering to progressives. Fire your HR department. Focus on content and ignore the rest.

I always liked this sort of ALT-Hover option to explain stats an effects that's present in Games like Baldur's Gate 3 or POE2. Managed to implement a rough version of it for my indie game project (Roguelike / Arpg-lite / Backpack hybrid). What do you think?

@pathofexile Idk if this is isolated to EU servers, but I can honestly say that after I switched to Milan I had 0 disconnects. Your server providers in the rest of Europe are scamming you. Move your servers to Easter Europe where there are actual experts who know what they are doing.

@NeverSinkDev That's pretty much half an echo shrine. If echo shrine can roll on the new belt this will be a good setup for bow gladiator.

Patchnote curios #4 Lioneye's Glare Unique Bow now has Attacks you use yourself Repeat an additional time and Attacks you use yourself have 50% more Attack Speed. Am I reading this correctly? It's nearly trippling the damage of Lioneye's glare (a bit less because repeats take time, more like 2.3-2.5x probably) That's so bonkers. Lioneye's glare pure damage output seems pretty insane

I also found the following thing surprising: The trial dropped a REMARKABLE number of T4-T5 items compared to T14-T15 maps.

Something happened. I just ran the trial of Sekhema's and actually had a blast. That one trial made more profit than most of my farming for the day. I also think... I might want to run it again. Is this legal? Did this happen to someone else before? Should I be worried?

@DanBurmawy Muslims only embrace democracy as a tool for power grab. Then they start chopping off heads, literally. This has been proven over and over through the past 7 centuries, world wide.

Yesterday, I took an Uber in New York. The driver was an Egyptian Muslim who has been living in the U.S. for 35 years. He heard me speaking Arabic on the phone, which led to a conversation about how great America is and how, as a foreign-born citizen, he’s treated equally. I explained to him how Islamic countries could reach the level of freedom and prosperity the U.S. enjoys, and I mentioned how Christians in Egypt live as second-class citizens and face persecution. Since he had just praised how equally he’s treated in America, I expected him to agree with me. Instead, he became defensive, justifying the persecution of Christians in Egypt, and went on to say that Egypt should apply Islam and Sharia more fully, claiming it’s “Islamic in name only.” Thirty-five years in a liberal democracy, yet he still can’t imagine governance apart from Islam, even while enjoying the benefits of an infidel, non-Islamic system. Sadly, Muslims will always embrace democracy only as a vehicle to serve their interests, until they can make Islam the law of the land.

@Neven0r @TalkativeTri You can always either go hybrid or monk. I'm assuming here that armor/evasion gear will be able to roll both mods. Which positions mercenary to actually utilize nodes on both sides of the tree. Tactician specifically. Which is why i'm assuming a harsher formula.

@Vaci_Original @TalkativeTri There isn't a single mechanic in the game you need to spec 30 points in, ES and damage excluded for obvious reasons. I used the term because this is literally their design goal, with a single caveat of making it tied to evasion specifically, to avoid armor+deflection.

Seriously, please tell me. When lots of people say "warrior is dead" and "warrior is gutted, deadeye only thing to play" for this Path of Exile 2 league, do they mean warrior and its associated class identity (ascendancies, mace skills) are in no way viable, or what? If this is your opinion, please detail below. It's all just internet hyperbole, right? I'm keen to see if warrior turns out to be this bad with the new notables, new support gem tiers, new lineage supports, ability to use multiple of the same support gem, etc. It is pretty cool though: the only 2 complaints I'm reading over and over are: no druid and this, that warrior is dead. Better than the last patch! Cannot wait for August 29th to NOT play Ranger or Warrior 🤣

@Neven0r @TalkativeTri This is why i disagree with the "carbon copy" term you used before. I would assume at least 20-30 points and above average gear will be needed for this to even begin to be reliable. otherwise will be spell suppress all over again.

@Vaci_Original @TalkativeTri Spell suppression cap was a question of a few suffixes and a passive cluster. This is neither "difficult" nor "results in damage tradeoff", this is "starting the build" level. Like getting basic ES gear before speccing CI.

@Neven0r @TalkativeTri That was in terms of pinnacle content obviously. As i said i used arbiter's accuracy as base. Lets be honest nothing else lives long enough to do any real damage to you. Not to mention that i did not see nerfs to Lich which with the proper setup deletes at least 25 of all damage

@Vaci_Original @TalkativeTri Correct. Which is why they will make it achievable enough to the point it makes for a reliable defense layer. Which is why your idea of having 80k evasion to "begin to scratch the 100%" is literally opposite to what GGG's stated design goal was.

@Neven0r @TalkativeTri and both will need serious investment in terms of gear and passives, which will result in sacrifices in damage. They are going for meaningful combat after all.

Cmon, man. youtu.be/xtEyX2GCwfU?t=… (with the timestamp). The reason deflection is a "rating" is so they can tie it to evasion. Specifically to avoid the pitfall of spell suppression in PoE1 where you had templars and marauders running with it. 80-100k evasion? What are you even thinking? Like, the actual evasion cap of 95% against a lvl82 enemy is achieved at ~50k evasion. You can't be seriously thinking Deflection will require TWICE that much just to get capped? Have you played PoE1? How difficult was it to cap your spell suppression at 100%, given you start on the left side of the tree and are running evasion gear? Is there a single reason you can think of for GGG to make Deflection more difficult to cap than that? Tell you what: I bet you'll be able to cap your Deflection chance at 100% by having somewhere around 15-20k evasion, given you try to get it on gear and maybe grab 1 cluster on the tree. I might be wrong, but currently I see no reason for it to be different.

@Neven0r @TalkativeTri Until we have the exact formula we can only go on what we have which is the current evasion formula. All we do here is speculation, yours being negative and mine positive. Trust me deflection will be excellent for regular gameplay so will armor to ele.

@Neven0r @TalkativeTri Wrong. There are 2 differences one is capped at 95% and the other is not, one prevents all damage taken, other mitigates 40%. Deflection is specifically a RATING. You would need evasion values upwards of at least 80-100k rating to even begin to scratch 100%

@Vaci_Original @TalkativeTri Deflection is not going to be "rolled for". You either use this defense layer, or you do not. If you use it, then you cap it. Meaning, you get a 100% chance to deflect 40%+ of ALL damage you take. Which, again, is literally what you do with spell suppression and how it works.

@Neven0r @TalkativeTri Also 5k hit difficulty 4 Arbiter territory. Armor to ele also will work regardless of ele pen or any modifier to res Also you can view it however you want, the matter of the fact is that all of those are undeniable buffs. Also you will always be better off with armor on warrior

This is wrong, and this is exactly why I wrote the long post, I knew people will be tricked into wrong math, by assuming it works like in PoE1, or just by not knowing the minutia of calculations here, which is understandable in both cases. Here's how it works: Armor formula for damage reduction is calculated as Armor/(Armor+ 10 X Damage). This damage reduction is then applied to an elemental hit BEFORE resistances apply (confirmed by Mark in Ziggy's QnA). Lets take your own example: - a 5000 cold damage hit - 75% cold resistance on a character - 10000 armor on a character (this is a decent amount, requires investment) - 100% of armor applies to elemental damage (this should be achievable, but is supposed to be a heavy investment: a mix of tree passives and suffixes on gear will be required to get here!) Damage reduction from armor is 10000 / (10000+50000)=~0.16, so we have an effective DR of 16% 5000*0.84=4,200 4200*0.25=1,050 So, all that heavy investment saves you from 200 damage. Deflection here would shave off 500 damage, so it's literally 2.5 times worse in your own example.

@Neven0r @TalkativeTri Furthermore if you 100% armor to ele with like 10k-ish armor your elemental max hit before mitigation goes up roughly by 50%. With 5k ele hit at 75 res you take 1250 damage, with 100% armor to ele you take 900 damage. Both mechanics get better with better gear. Need I say more?!

This is not how it works. Deflection is a carbon copy of spell suppression from PoE1, except it's not limited to spells due to enemy attacks not having that classification anymore. Which translates to the following: deflection is a stat you're meant to get 100% of, at which point you have flat 40%+ DR forever. Armor-to-ele can scale above 100%, but even at 500% of armor-to-ele it's still trash compared to Deflection, and I guarantee you there won't be warriors running with 500% of armor-to-ele. Like I mentioned in that long post - this is a fundamental mechanics problem, you can't slap enough numbers on it and expect it to work. Block at 50% vs Block at 75% is "you now get hit twice as often". Yes, it now blocks non-red slams, but they are way less prevalent than regular attacks you take. Block and armor are defenses primarily against chip damage, and they got worse for their main purpose, which is why I'm calling it an overall nerf.

@Neven0r @TalkativeTri it was explicitly stated that Deflection is notthing like SS. It takes into account enemy accuracy and effects like blind. block worked for strikes and projectiles only unless modified so actually 50% cap is net positive. Also - warbringer has 75%. Need I Say more ?
