@mealdealtruther People with god complex think they can save the world by pressing blue and end up being the hero. You are not a savior if you press blue, you are the one who needs to be saved.

the red button / blue button thing basically doesn't matter but man the people arguing about Facts And Logic about pressing red are all just honking psychos. Billions may perish, but so long as *I* survive

@cloud__alter You are not saving anyone by pressing blue. That‘s just some hero fantasy. It is the other way around, you need to be saved by others if you press blue. And by convincing others to press blue, you are endangering their lives just for you to be saved because you want to play hero.

Everyone presses blue = Everyone survives Everyone presses red = Everyone survives Most people press blue = Everyone survives Most people press red = Red survives, but straight up all the blues get killed Red is beneficial to only you, you don't even save anyone by choosing it
MrBeast@MrBeast

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? BE HONEST.

Is a sub-4 marathon actually “fast”… or just the most protected ego goal in running?

@DanielConlin6 @DavidDack Most people just want to finish as a life achievement, no matter the time. After the first marathon you realize that just finishing is a low bar for a healthy person with consistent training.

@DavidDack It's not fast, but at least it show that you made an effort. Unless you are very old, it should be considered a bare minimum. If you can't run <4, you should keep training before entering a marathon, because you aren't ready.

@Prof_Yaffle_ @DanielConlin6 @DavidDack Then I suggest training for a marathon, instead of just signing up and running. So yeah, you are not ready, assuming you are not just doing it for the number but actually „trying to make the 4 hour barrier“.

@sonukg4india It's linear function f(x)=7x/3-5 f(6)=9, f(9)=16, f(24)=51 But because f(0)<>0 the condition f(x+y)=f(x)+f(y) doesn't apply

@Svante10516217 @0m4rBus0 @sonukg4india …^y^y converges to a, then y^a = a, or y = a ^ (1/a) f(x) = x ^ (1/x), has a maximum at x=e (apply ln, maximum is where derivation is 0). For y > 1, the function g(y) = …^y^y is monotonous. y in the equation above is maximal for a = e, so a = e is the largest possible a.

@0m4rBus0 @sonukg4india Instintivamente pensaría que es de <0,1] que la expresión converge, pero que interesante que sea "e" el límite. Hay alguna demostración por ahí de ello?) me parece fascinante

@r33124541 @0m4rBus0 @sonukg4india It does not say it converges „for“ values in the defines range, but „to“ values in the defined range. The lower bound was wrong, but y is not supposed to be in the range, but the value of the entire term.

@sonukg4india For any value greater than 1, x and y both go to infinity.
