Slovakia did it. Slovenia did it. Singapore did it with a city and no resources. Alberta has a multi-trillion dollar resource base and more GDP than 150 countries. The idea that Alberta independence isn’t possible isn’t supported by historical reality.

Most people are never going to be convinced about Alberta independence through screaming matches online, insults, or political rage. They’re convinced through calm, honest conversations with people they already know and trust. That’s the real path forward. Every supporter already knows friends, coworkers, neighbors, or family members who are probably somewhere in the middle, quietly curious, or at least open to talking. Many people are afraid to bring the topic up because they don’t want conflict or they assume everyone around them is hostile to the idea. But you don’t need to walk up and “sell” independence to people. You don’t need a speech. You don’t need to argue. Sometimes all it takes is something simple and neutral like: “Hey, what do you think about this independence movement that’s growing?” Their reaction will tell you everything. Some people won’t be interested, and that’s okay. Let it go respectfully and move on. But others will surprise you. Many people are far more open than you think once they realize they can talk without being attacked or judged. Friendly conversations between normal people are powerful because trust already exists. Social media algorithms can’t replace that. The media can’t stop that. Political gatekeepers can’t control that. If every supporter has just ONE respectful conversation each day with someone they know, we will win independence! That’s how people change their minds. That’s how majorities are built. That’s how we win independence.

I call it “The Bukele Effect” it happens to a country when you completely eradicate corruption from inside every aspect of a government, you cut all waste from within a government, and you protect the private property rights of your citizens by arresting the criminals who were destroying the nation. Crime and Punishment isn't about a single murder, but the *idea* that can justify murdering millions. Raskolnikov famously kills a predatory pawnbroker, reasoning that she won't be missed, and he can use her money for the greater good. Strangely, however, he never uses her money. He instead buries it under a rock and forgets it. What was his true motivation then? Later on, you discover he's motivated by a much darker ideology, which he shares in an article titled "On Crime." He argues there are only 2 types of people: 1. Ordinary people: who live by the status quo and obey the law 2. Extraordinary people: who have the strength to break the law He concludes that extraordinary people SHOULD break the law to serve the greater good of humanity… The problem of this ideology is it doesn't justify just one murder, but two, or three, or three thousand, etc. Raskolnikov proves this himself: after murdering the pawnbroker, he then murders her innocent sister, solely for self-preservation. Ultimately, Dostoevsky warns that when man rejects objective morality, not only is murder justified, but moral relativism — taken at scale — can justify mass murder itself. What is brilliant about Crime and Punishment is that the greatest damage to Raskolnikov is not the legal or social consequences that eventually catch up to him. Instead, Raskolnikov's actions destroy him bit-by-bit from the inside. Where Raskolnikov thought that his own superiority would allow him to commit crimes with impunity, he finds that it is the personal cost that actually damages him. Thus Dostoevsky makes a poignant argument that morality is objective. And if we live according to our own will, and to our own ambition, disaster is lurking...
