@bloodyeek @Bultosherpa158 So far, an indicator was left hanging, a loose number plate and a rear suspension nut fell off 😂 But that was when I first had it. I know better now....

Valveclearances are simple on a SR motor. Line up the TDC line with a crankcase pip then feeler gauge it- 0.10mm inlet 0.15 ex . The latter was almost closed, no wonder it was so quiet! Sounds rattly now- good. Polished up the covers whilst there.

Ever had that moment when your knob fell off? Just as I was approaching a roundabout and wasn't able to change into any gear...my knob was merrily bouncing behind me 😬

@GrumpyUK That's a good idea. I'll be checking it before/after every ride though. I'll see if Hogparts have one, but as I mentioned earlier, it's never happened before. You can't be too careful....it's on now...

@ValveGuideBlues Well, I thought the box had seized as changing was impossible! Hope you’re all fixed up now. After the event my mate kept a spare knob in the saddle bag! He’s since sold it (nothing to do with the changer).

@GrumpyUK Bugger! I was lucky as we'd just come through the countryside, so had to change up and down the gears. If it had come off there, it would have been game over 😆 I've owned the bike for nearly 30 years and this is the first time 🤞🏼

@ValveGuideBlues My mate had a bmw R18 cruiser and he fitted a longer knob for the gear change as changing was awkward with the changer under a pot! Anyway despite loctite it came off on the motorway rendering the bike unusable!
