.@CSexton25 made the right call. In Tennessee, actions have consequences. Since Democrats wanted to obstruct, grandstand, and disrupt during special session, they should not expect to keep positions of influence in the legislature.

Wrapped up the day with the Overton County Republican Party for their monthly meeting. It’s becoming clear that the people of the 6th District want to send a fighter to DC who will stand with President @realDonaldTrump. As your Congressman, I’ll fight every day for lower taxes, less government, and more freedom.

Great morning in Oneida with @GovBillLee and @YagerTweets on the America 250 Tour. This stop in Scott County highlighted additions to Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Oneida/Huntsville. America is built by hardworking men and women who aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get the job done. I’m beyond proud to see the continued investment and expansion of TCAT, giving the next generation of skilled tradesmen the tools and training they need to succeed.

During National Police Week, we honor the dedication and courage of our law enforcement community. Their commitment to service strengthens the safety and security of our nation.

Every wrinkle of our democracy has been touched by leftist ideology, and it is our duty to push back. From the delivery room to the school house, and from the locker room to the church house, we must fight to strengthen conservative values again.

Mothers are without question among God’s greatest blessings and most wonderful gifts. My mother, Evelyon, and my wife, Meredith, the mother of our four children, certainly fit that description. My mother grew up in East Nashville and was in high school during World War ll. On occasion she would recount with both sadness and admiration the number of boys she knew who quit high school to go fight for their country. In marrying my dad, Mom moved to his hometown in East Tennessee where I grew up in a Christian home of unwavering love and dedication to me and my three siblings. Her love and dedication extended - exponentially - to her eleven grandchildren. My mother had many accomplishments outside of the home, including becoming chair of our county school board - the first female county school board chairman in Tennessee we were told. I had the most meaningful honor of drawing the “all night duty” staying up with her during, as it turned out, her last night on Earth as she was steadily succumbing to the scourge of cancer. She managed to get the strength to talk about her life and her accomplishments of which she was most proud, which predictably centered almost exclusively on her children and grandchildren. The only thing she really regretted was that she was not going to be around to see her grandchildren grow up to achieve and tackle life. I wish she could have seen one of her grandchildren get married last night and another one graduate from high school next weekend. She will always be missed, but we have no doubt that she’s in a better place. My wife Meredith has continued the pattern set by my mother and her mother, Carol, to create a most loving, Christain home for our children, all the while working a full time job outside the home. I marvel at how she’s able to do it all, and I could not even attempt to run for public office without the income she brings in from her job to tide us through. And try as I would, I couldn’t begin to provide the same wonderful home for our children without her unbridled love and talents. Thank you Lord. I love you Mere, and I love you Mom. Thank you from all of my heart, and happy Mothers’ Day to you and all mothers everywhere.

Serving in the military comes at a great price, and it wouldn’t be possible without the spouses that support our soldiers at home. Thank you, military spouses, for your service and sacrifice.

Big win today for President @realDonaldTrump, conservatives, and the future of our country. The effort to rig the playing field by the radical left in Virginia has been overturned, and fairness has prevailed. Republicans are fighting to keep America moving in the right direction. 🇺🇸

Today is the National Day of Prayer. It is blessing that we live in a country where we can freely practice our faith, and today we join in praying for our country and our communities in unity.

Democrats can complain all they want but we’re simply following the same playbook they’ve used in states like Massachusetts and Virginia. Tennessee stands with @realDonaldTrump.
