#TBT: Alvin K. Bissell came to Oak Ridge in 1943. He became Oak Ridge's first mayor for 20 yrs. He hosted many dignitaries, including Senator Howard Baker, Jr., Major General Leslie Groves, & several Presidents. A.K. Bissell Park is named in his honor.
