C’mon, @AirCanada. Let’s get @joeysavoie_ his sticks so he can get to work. Play well in South America, Joey. If you need a caddy this year at @PGATOURAmericas in Mactaquac this year, let me know. I’d be honoured to carry the bag.

"It had been a staunch ally through history, a gallant D-Day partner and attempting to acquire it would undoubtedly make the King of Canada unhappy," Hardman added. According to Hardman's recounting of the conversation, Trump paused at that note and asked the British journalist whether Canada still recognized King Charles as its head of state. "Do they still recognize the King? Or have they stopped that?" Trump said, according to Hardman. Trump's respect for King Charles possibly quashed desire to annex Canada, says royal commentator | CBC News cbc.ca/news/politics/…

The NDP leadership convention is causing a feeding frenzy on RW Twitter. Anytime normie non-Canadian are confronted with news from Canada, it is usually something that makes us appear very unserious. We are beclowning ourselves in the eyes of the world. That has consequences.

@ElsiesWoke Ok. Well. Now I’ve got THAT to worry about. Haven’t read any Sam Harris yet. He’s on my list. I’ve heard a number of interviews. Not a fan of the paid subscription over using ads. He seems to like the paid bit.

The longterm survival of any advanced species necessarily requires a dynamic whereby culture becomes more careful and more cohesive to counter increased existential risk due to advanced technology. Roughly the opposite of that is happening with us.

The viral story suggesting a massive $500 million "bribe" involving Prime Minister Carney and an MP’s husband is a classic case of taking a real, historic housing announcement and twisting the names to fit a corruption narrative. Here is the context behind the numbers, the real players involved, and the sources that set the record straight. The Scene: January 30, 2026 👉 On this day, the federal government officially moved from "planning" to "building" in the North. Standing in Ottawa, federal Housing Minister Gregor Robertson, alongside Nunavut Housing Minister Cecile Nelvana Lyall and NTI President Paul Irngaut, announced a joint investment of $480 million to build 750 new homes across Nunavut. This project was a flagship for Prime Minister Carney’s newly launched Build Canada Homes (BCH) agency. The funding was split: $250 million from the federal government and $230 million from the Government of Nunavut. Who is actually building the homes? 👉The logistics of building in the Arctic are brutal. You cannot simply hire a small local firm to build 750 homes in one go; you need industrial scale. The Southern Partner: The primary contract for the modular units was awarded to Caivan, an Ottawa-based leader in large-scale modular manufacturing. Their role is to build high-performance, climate-resilient home sections in their Ottawa factory and ship them north via sealift. The Northern Partner: The Inuit-led portion of the project is managed by Igluvut Corporation, the construction arm of Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI). The Distribution: As of mid-March 2026, the first units—manufactured by Caivan—had already begun arriving in communities like Baker Lake. Where the "Bribe" Claim Fell Short 👉The social media claim targets Allan Mullin, the husband of Nunavut MP Lori Idlout, and his company Nunavut Holdings Inc. While Mr. Mullin is indeed a local contractor in Iqaluit, there is a massive gap between a local renovation firm and a $480 million territorial housing rollout. Public procurement records and the official 👉"Agreement in Principle" do not list Nunavut Holdings as a lead contractor or recipient of the $480 million. In fact, a search of the Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner’s public registry shows that while Lori Idlout has correctly disclosed her husband's business interests, there are no reported contracts of this magnitude. The "scandal" appears to have been manufactured by substituting the actual industrial contractor (Caivan) with the name of a politician’s spouse to create a viral headline. The Conclusion 👉The $480 million is real ✅, and the 750 homes are real, but the "payoff" is not❌. ‼️The money is being funneled through the Build Canada Homes agency into a complex partnership between the federal government, the territorial government, and Inuit organizations. Rather than a secret bribe, the project is a highly public, multi-government effort to solve a decade-long housing crisis using modern manufacturing. The viral posts effectively took the "what" of a government success story—the much-needed housing for the North—and fabricated a "who" to turn it into a political scandal. Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner: Public Registry for Lori Idlout, MP (2026) – Shows disclosures for Allan Mullin/Nunavut Holdings with no $480M contract listed.

So, the Prime Minister bribed an MP's husband with a $500M government contract, and we just don't really care? Canada is such a joke.

@NovaScotiaESM I wonder if perhaps local residents could be offered the option of a fast pass of some sort. Or maybe a tax break based on address. I dunno. Something.

@DominicCardy So many are focused on Trump being finished in office, whether it’s impeachment following the midterms (should they happen), the completion of his term (unlikely, IMO) or the natural end that befalls most octogenarians. But what comes next most likely will be worse.

@Osint613 I wonder why Fetterman would say that the “left media” doesn’t cover something but then says he doesn’t watch it.

FETTERMAN: “And I would remind everybody listening right now, the United States never, ever targets civilians. Iran does, including their own citizens. They massacred 35,000 of them just a couple of weeks ago.” Collins tried to interrupt. FETTERMAN: “And the left… please! The left media is much more angry about this hospital, and it is a tragedy. But they didn’t seem as concerned about the Iranians massacring tens of thousands of their young people just a couple of weeks ago.” “So we agree on many parts, but we all disagree that it’s a good thing. Every single other Democrat in the caucus called it negative in terms.” Collins seemed shocked and paused. COLLINS: “Uh… we did cover the protests in Iran extensively here at CNN. They talked a lot about how internally people felt about the regime.” FETTERMAN: “Well, I don’t watch, so I don’t know. I’m talking about other left media.” COLLINS: “I understand. I just wanted to make that clear to our viewers that we did cover that. But just to be clear, you do believe that if the United States was responsible, the Pentagon should acknowledge that they accidentally hit a girl’s school?” FETTERMAN: “Yeah, I’ve said that. It seems they’ve already acknowledged those things. That letter is largely moot after what’s already come out. And I don’t know what your network talked about, but the New York Times is trying to convince America this has been a disaster. That’s categorically not true.” COLLINS: “I just think it deserves coverage. Given the number of children killed, it obviously matters what happened there. We’ll see what the Pentagon investigation says.” Collins tried to end the segment. COLLINS: “Senator John Fetterman, I appreciate your time tonight. Thank you for joining us.” FETTERMAN: “Oh, now, you don’t have to cut me off here.” [chuckles] Collins relented. COLLINS: “Go ahead, Senator, we’re not cutting you off.” FETTERMAN: “Well, you said it’s appropriate to cover it. It is appropriate. It’s a tragedy, absolutely. And now, if we’re on that, it’s entirely appropriate for you to apologize if you implied I don’t think it’s wrong to cover it. That’s not true. I just want to clarify that it seemed like a short shutoff to imply I didn’t want to cover it or that I don’t think it’s appropriate to talk about it.” COLLINS: “I’m not implying that. I just wanted to clarify for everyone watching. Senator, thank you. I always appreciate hearing your thoughts.” FETTERMAN: [Annoyed tone] “Yeah… thank you.”
