My exhibition at the LAB is the culmination of my project "Swimming a Long Way Together" 2021/24, curated by Rosie Hermon. The project is a multi-sited celebration of swimming & swimming communities inspired by the pioneer long distance swimmer Mercedes Gleitze. @artscouncil_ie

I'm a 'Channel Swimmer'! It took me 17.35 hours Thanks to Simon & Maz - High Hopes pilots, my team Mel, Petra & King of the Channel - Kevin Murphy & observer Sue. I started in pink skies on the 16th July from Dover & finished on Le Petit Blanc Nez in the dark & torrential rain.

The past three years have been a whirlwind of a journey working with Rosie Hermon on “Swimming a Long Way Together” an art project that draws its inspiration from 20th century pioneer swimmer Mercedes Gleitze as part of its wider celebration of swimming and swimming communities.

There's only 4 days left to see 'At Home in the Water' at @FabricaGallery in Brighton. Here is BBC South East from October the 14th (1st half). My film will probably never be shown as a 7m wide split screen, in a dark church building again, it looks & sounds fab! Thanks Fabrica!

🎂 Happy Birthday Mercedes Gleitze, born in Brighton on this day in 1900. In 1927, Gleitze became the first British woman to swim the English Channel, transforming her from a humble working-class typist into one of the most iconic sportswomen of her age. fabrica.org.uk/at-home-in-the…
