@sappy_sappho1 Unfortunately “superhero school” is where most good storytelling goes to die. Only positive examples I’ve seen usually switch to a different sub genre halfway through like MHA and like one or two x-men runs.

@levidu99 No Spider-Man cartoon has ever lasted beyond 5 seasons because something will end up buckling, whether it’s public investment, company interest, funding, or overall quality. People always point to anime but the anime merch machine is unkillable. Action cartoon merch died in 2010.

To further elaborate, he is likely not someone you will ever meet in person, so a lot people could view him from a less personal perspective. For example, you probably know someone like bakugo (a loud bully) versus a dude who wants to kill you for his dad’s approval.

I honestly think the main reason why Zuko has been seen as the golden standard for redemption arcs is because he hasn’t committed any action worthy of death or total social ostracization on screen. So for a lot of people, he hasn’t crossed the invisible line of no return.

Invincible is gonna probably stretch to 8 seasons which is already a shit ton for a modern animated show and I can only imagine they’ll face more challenges ahead in terms of keeping writing and performance quality up, I can’t imagine a 25 season Spidey cartoon wouldn’t even more

@ArchetypeAccel I’m genuinely glad I don’t feel much of any nostalgia for the series due to read the manga/watched the anime for the first time when the TYBW anime premiered. I can like the series warts and all without feeling too defensive when someone spews bs or is rightfully criticizing it.

Bleach having a decade of humiliation after the anime ended resulted in fans being defensive about the series. I mean how they try to analyse it comes off more as them making it more presentable as some high art/work to "outsiders" than something they enjoyed "within" a community
