Yes sure. They are free to choose whoever they want. However, this isn’t exactly a bank. Think of it like buying an iPhone from a shop. Will you buy from a shop in Jawahar Nagar or Amazon. If you are the president of Jawahar Nagar Shopkeeper association and you buy from Amazon, it is an issue.

Went to a "gym freak" friend's place and was feeling so hungry, so I asked him to cook something, and he ended up making oats for dinner. 😭

Being in Singapore has made me realize that the greatest benefit of using stablecoins is not dollar access, instant settlement, or even yield. The single greatest benefit of stablecoins, and the reason they will rule the world, is that stablecoins are technologically agnostic financial mechanisms. Here's a short story to demonstrate what I mean. After traveling for 20+ hours, I landed in Singapore and, like a moron, accidentally hit cash pay when ordering my Grab (local rideshare). I did not have cash. I asked my driver if he took stablecoins, and he laughed at me. So, I had to get the front desk attendant at my hotel to pay my driver using a local RTP solution that is only accessible to folks with a Singapore Bank account. I then had to download the Wise app, fund it with my U.S account (which took 24 hours) so that I could reimburse the front desk attendant. The simplified flow of funds looked like this (see first picture). The reason that this transaction became so complicated (beyond the fact that I should not have chosen cash pay like a moron) is that money remains siloed within applications. For example, I could not have used my $ in my bank, my Venmo, or my Coinbase to send money to someone on Grab. ------------------------------------------------------------ Side note: THIS REALLY PISSES ME OFF I can email or text anyone in the world, regardless of what device they use, the internet provider they pay, etc. Why doesn't my money do the same? It is a reminder that there is a massive discrepancy between how money SHOULD work and how money DOES work. This discrepancy infuriates me like nothing else. ------------------------------------------------------------ Enter stablecoins. Stablecoins are technologically agnostic. They are pure, unbiased, unconstrained weapons of financial freedom. I can take any onchain form of currency and send it to anyone else in the world, even if I am using a Coinbase wallet and the recipient is using MetaMask. To take this one step further, I can even permissionlessly move this money across various settlement networks (chains) and token types as I please! Using stablecoins, the flow of funds from the story above could have looked like this: (see second picture) With stablecoins, application-level restrictions cease to exist, and money can move as it was designed to - freely and instantly. This core truth of onchain money connects the world's financial systems instantly and transparently. We all know how money should work, and now we have the tools to build it.

7/8 The financial landscape is being redrawn in real time. This isn't a cycle. It's a structural shift. Private credit is here to stay, and it's only getting bigger. Adaptation beats nostalgia in finance. Every single time. buff.ly/Yc0bfnV

6/8 What this means for banks: They're watching a $1.7 trillion market slip away while private credit AUM continues explosive growth. The question: Will they find a way back into the game they voluntarily exited?

🧵 The Great Credit Migration - Why private lenders are winning where banks are walking away 1/8 The numbers tell a story banks don't want to admit: they're losing the middle market lending game, and private credit is eating their lunch. Here's why this shift is permanent 👇

@artijourno Not denying loan not same as approving a very small limit which is not worth defaulting to start a bad cibil score. Banks would just start offering say a 2k or 5k loan so they fulfil the requirement

If banks can't deny loans to first-time borrowers without a CIBIL history, where does that leave fintech lending platforms and NBFCs? If implemented in letter and spirit, such a move could deal a massive blow to their business models.

@deepakabbot They likely have a large book of low cost deposits at 3-5%, and need to acquire assets else the bleed from liabilities becomes untenable Mortgage assets have one of the lowest risk charges among other asset options, typically tactic deployed in transitory rate environment

A bank (tiny one) is offering to take over my home loan at 6.9% from 7.3% current😱 Their floating rate is repo rate linked. How will they ever make money on this loan? No pf, no foreclosure, no prepayment penalty included. This bank name rhymes with a Japanese manga character 😛
