What’s a s35 Disperal Area? A dispersal area is a temporary, behaviour-based policing power to deal with crime and disorder. It is not a curfew, not stop and search, and not aimed at young or LGBTQ+ people. It should be proportionate and time-limited.

Very fustrated to see the new @TidewayLondon public riverside space will be closed til Jan 5. A 16 day closure is wholly unnecessary to simply deter NYE crowds who want to watch the fireworks. Cllr Bailey is pushing for a more balanced approach that maintains public access.
