Scammers come where attention and volume is. In a permissionless system there will wil always people trying scam others. So actually it's a good sign for solana. But the users need to be more educated, most scams are easy to avoid but people don't research before they buy. We need to stop rewarding the scammers.

in the trenches almost every token is launched with the intention of making money at the expense of others. From a certain perspective, that can already be seen as a scam, but it truly becomes one when the chances of winning are unfair. This happens when the imbalance (bundle) in distribution is so large that a shift/sell has such a big impact that the token is essentially written off as dead. Scammers will always try to hide this imbalance by creating new wallets, breaking on-chain links, and so on. It remains a constant cat-and-mouse game. At the moment, with the right tools, you can filter out most of these scams where you realistically have no chance of winning. Unfortunately, most people don’t use these tools, because they just want to gamble. As a result, scammers keep getting funded and continue to thrive. It will never be scam free in a permissionless system, but there is definitely some low-hanging fruit.

the people who launch scams are scammers obvious right? well, if they are scammers, then they are gonna scam regardless of what you tell them, and they will scam wherever they can do it the easiest the uncomfortable reality is that *this is solana today* if you are the most usable, then you are, by definition, the most usable place to do both good things and bad things in permissioned systems, you can permission off bad things in permissionless systems, you can not solana is a permissionless system so what is there to be done about this? well, i) understand that all who engage here know that they're gambling but also, ii) understand that the expectation is that they are at least gambling on a "fair" basis and finally, iii) understand that as more chains get usable, this will be seen more and more as a crypto-wide problem, it will not matter what the name of the ledger is so, what is the solution? tbh: I have no idea one part of it is that adaptation just takes time you can solve it on a tech level with a sniper-proof and mev-proof launchpads, but the scammers can just use another platform you can solve it on a distribution level (for example, wallets only surface tokens that meet some criteria), but anyone can just spin up a new frontend you can solve it on a regulatory level, but crypto is global and the regulatory arbitrage will always exist you can solve it on a cultural level (i.e., it's "frowned upon to do such and such") but culture is relative and there will always exist ppl w different beliefs can you solve it on an incentive game-theory level? I'm not sure, but as long as people wanna get rich quick (which is always), I'm not sure it's possible it seems to me that the only possible solution is that the number of quality non-scam things must increase such that the relative signal:noise ratio is much better and drowns out the noise when you go to NYC, yeah there's a higher crime rate, but there's also a much higher everything, including quality of life (compared to a crime-ridden 3rd world place with no redeeming qualities), food, and job opportunities etc so the answer is to just take the learnings and build
