As the President lashes out against the Fed, SCOTUS and NATO allies (see posts below) it's clear he misses his IEEPA tariffs. NATO allies aren't capitulating like 2025. As a reminder: Trump could hike the current 10% tariffs to 15% - indeed Bessent & Greer were supposed to have done that last week, but they didn't, because the @GOP has an affordability problem and what were bright spots (markets and gas prices) have been upended by war. NATO allies are very aware of this. I'd caution that this calculus holds through November 3rd. Then all bets are off and the Sec 301 tariffs, which have no upper bound limit, could be imposed across 60 of our largest trading partners.

Congress is going to spin its wheels for 10 days on this SAVE Act and then leave town through April 13th. Meaning @POTUS has free reign for in Iran for ~4 weeks before any kind of leash is put on him by nervous lawmakers going into the election. In 8 weeks, he'll have new tariff authority to threaten NATO allies with. So great to be with @contessabrewer and @CNBC this morning with @SeanaNSmith and @verrone_chris.
