The latest propaganda being pushed around UDA and 2027 is very simple. They want Kenyans to believe that the election is already gone, that Ruto will rig, that voting will not matter, that registration is useless and that the people should enter 2027 already defeated in their minds. That is why you are seeing this “they will rig” line being sponsored and amplified everywhere, including by sections of the media that have become very friendly to this regime. NTV itself has carried the framing of UDA leaders allegedly plotting to rig 2027, showing how loud this narrative has become in public conversation. To be honest, the optics of serious, countrywide rigging are too heavy for this regime. This is a government that cannot repair potholes, cannot manage fuel prices, cannot manage schools, cannot manage hospitals, cannot manage salaries, cannot even explain simple taxes without creating anger. You really believe the same confused regime has the intelligence, discipline, secrecy and technical sophistication to manage a clean nationwide rigging operation without being caught? Rigging a presidential election is not like bribing a few brokers in a hotel or manipulating a small party nomination. A national election has agents, polling stations, forms, constituency tallying centres, observers, media, screenshots, live streams, parallel tallies and millions of angry citizens watching every number. The moment Kenyans realize even one vote does not tally, this country will enter a crisis bigger than anything this regime can control. That is why I believe this “he will rig anyway” chorus is not just a warning. It is psychological warfare meant to kill voter registration, kill turnout and create apathy. It is also meant to make young people say, “Why vote if they will steal it?” That is exactly where they want you mentally. The real answer is not to stay home but massive registration, massive turnout, agents in every polling station, parallel tallying, civic vigilance and zero fear. Elections are not stolen from people who are awake, organized and watching every vote. Elections are stolen from people who were discouraged before the first ballot was even cast. So don’t fall for the propaganda. The vote still matters, registration matters, turnout mattes and polling station vigilance matters.

Let There Be Dialogue As students at Kenyatta University, we had made it a habit that whenever the President was driving along Thika Road, we would block the road and demand to be addressed. A typical address would often end with some goodies, so we always looked forward to it. On this particular day, however, a brilliant plan had been hatched. The university administration had withdrawn chapati from the menu. Given the scarcity of the commodity at the time, this had become a matter of great national interest, and a solution had to be found. The code name for chapati was “dialogue.” So when the President stopped and rose to listen, the students explained that all they wanted was dialogue, but the administration had declined. Surprised, Moi wondered how the university could refuse to have "Tialogue" with the students. He immediately ordered the administration to allow dialogue with immediate effect. In observance of the presidential decree, we proceeded to eat all the chapati in the mess for free. And indeed, there was dialogue. Even when our conception of dialogue is divergent, it still pays to have dialogue.

I suspect Jimi Wanjigi has contributed significantly to the problems we have witnessed as a nation over the years. For the longest time, he remained silent. He only became vocal when he was no longer part of the government of the day. He was never this loud under the previous administrations he actively supported. Yet today, he appears on Citizen TV pretending to be the most concerned patriot in the country. His Safina Party, which he leads, has zero representation in Parliament. All they have are a few piki piki ponki's making noise on X. The same characters are always at the table negotiating for kickbacks after every election. Hypocrites, the whole lot.

After watching Jimi Wanjigi closely, I no longer believe the man is anti-Ruto. He hides behind the emotional slogan of “stopping debt payments” while avoiding the economic consequences that would follow, which would be massive. On fuel price hikes, he has defended the government. On reducing fuel taxes, he said no, as well as defending the government. His excuse? “Taxes pay the debt.” But the reduction would not be permanent. Every serious economy on earth carries debt, but some have reduced taxes. I might be wrong. But if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then maybe the Safina Party was activated to split opposition votes. Something about Jimi is no longer adding up.
