California couple goes to pick up their English bulldog from doggy daycare only to allegedly be shown the dog deceased in a tub. The family of Chris & Ashley Merz says they were never contacted by Camp Canine in Santa Barbara that their dog was deceased. The dog, a one-year-old English bulldog named Bruce, had allegedly drowned in a pool. By the time he was taken out of the pool, rigor mortis had set in. The owners were reportedly never contacted that the dog had drowned before arriving to pick him up. They were then shown his body in a plastic tub. Bruce was reportedly supposed to be in the medium-sized dog area, but somehow ended up in the large-dog area. Camp Canine, also known as 'Disneyland for Dogs,' has temporarily suspended operations.

The gathering is to honor Bruce, support his family, and call for accountability and transparency following his death while in Camp Canine's care.
