I was a tomboy growing up, I hated my body and I was very depressed with suicidal thoughts. They diagnosed me with depression at age 11 (this was in the early 2000s). If my parents/doctor/psychiatrists had told me that I was really a boy, and that transitioning would cure my depression and make the sadness go away, I would have done it in a HEARTBEAT, and that scares the ever loving shit out of me.
