Proton Mail doesn’t fully encrypt your emails. The subject line is NOT end-to-end encrypted. So technically: • Your email content remains fully private and end-to-end encrypted • Your attachments are also protected with strong encryption • Your subject line can be accessed if a valid legal request is issued • Your metadata (like sender, timing, routing) still exists outside encryption Why? It relies on OpenPGP and standard email protocols for compatibility. Headers like the subject line are not encrypted by design. Encryption has limits. This is one of them.
