@backnotprop To be clear it used accessibility apis to hijack the space either side of the notch whilst the menubar itself is hidden

@backnotprop When I was using Ghostty frequently I made a menubar tool that put tabs there for every running Claude code session. Given I auto hide the menubar it made use of that space either side of the notch quite nicely This is a cool concept but I think there’s more UIs to explore

woke up & decided to prove that a bunch of yc startups and labs cant actually beat native mac window UX + ghostty tiling combo. yall have about a day to do something novel in an electron UI before this drops.

@humanwritten_ @bcherny Did not get a refund or even a response. They ban indiscriminately because of bad actors they’re dealing with, but there’s no recourse for those who get auto banned erroneously If it was a ban and refund I wouldn’t be so frustrated with their (lack of) treatment

Starting tomorrow at 12pm PT, Claude subscriptions will no longer cover usage on third-party tools like OpenClaw. You can still use these tools with your Claude login via extra usage bundles (now available at a discount), or with a Claude API key.

@shakoistsLog idk i haven’t really been seeing it. 50% smarter means what exactly? my repos don’t involve a lot of frontier math. it’s for sure better at reasoning about very complex logic/async bugs but that’s basically the status quo. def better to talk to than 5.3 or 5.2

i need you be really serious with you guys for a second, no trolling. gpt 5.4 xhigh codex is like 50% smarter than opus 4.6 in claude code. maybe 70%. if you need intelligence make the switch.

@viemccoy If you haven't already Vie, look into the work of Ray Peat. This article touches on Crohn's and I imagine his first principles approach to nutrition in conjunction with his love of poetry and art might make him an interesting resource for you: raypeat.com/articles/nutri…

I must admit that being in the hospital had me dooming slightly, they don't have any mechanism to get fresh air at this one without being discharged and it (along with my reasons for being admitted) was really getting to me. But today, I woke up feeling a bit better. And more hopeful. I can feel the future I'm working so hard to get us to pulling me back on track, which means getting my health sorted, which means taking time off. It's very counterintuitive to me, but it is necessary. I haven't seriously taken a break in years, and this is a bit forced upon me, but long overdo. Everything we do is one thing and all parts of it matter. Remember to take care of yourself :)

@spottedinprod @almonk @SoftwareReplay been wanting this badly. i run claude code sessions from my phone over ssh right now which works but feels like texting through a telegraph machine. proper mobile UX for agentic coding could be huge for those 'walking the dog but need to fix a deploy' moments

@hyperonline counter-point, I do think there is *something* that differentiates people who use AI very well vs very poorly. I dont know what it is, and it's not esoteric ai skills, but there is something that makes ai able to be leveraged dramatically more by some people than others

"You need to learn all these esoteric AI skills IMMEDIATELY or else blah blah permanent underclass" This is completely retarded Every "AI skill" people have learned over the last 3 years has been obsoleted 3 months later when a new model comes out Remember 'ultrathink?' Chain-of-thought prompting? Goofy roleplay prompts? ("You are a genius software developer. Please oneshot this for me") Heavy few-shot prompting? Context engineering? This is just going to keep happening There are several hundred-billion-dollar companies whos job is to make this shit so easy to use that your mom could figure it out on her cellphone That esoteric memory management system you built? It will be completely obsoleted in 6 months by a native version that's way better The only "AI skills" that have been consistently useful this entire time are just "having good ideas" and "being able to communicate them clearly" If you cannot do those things, then yah, you're going to be just as bad at AI as you were at everything else
_gabrielShapir0@lex_node

I'm increasingly sensing that "people who get really good at AI will survive & thrive" is likely a cope It doesn't require much skill, obviously it will also require less & less skill...I don't think any 'edge' you have today as a mere AI 'power user' will last long...

An artist who refuses to embrace AI is simply showing an inability to adapt and a paralysis driven by fear, dressed up as hollow arrogance and so-called artistic integrity. It makes no sense to keep using a pencil for many tasks where AI is simply faster and more powerful. As you said, it’s fear disguised as superiority, a performative sense of ethical and artistic elevation. And on top of that, there’s the ignorance of assuming that artists who use AI don’t know how to draw or create without it. As if we were born yesterday. In the end, like everyone who resists change, they’ll probably be remembered as people who couldn’t see what was right in front of them.
LeBoomington.eth@LeBoomington

I write, design, draw, direct, animate, edit, and sculpt … now I work with AI I cannot for the life of me understand why people hate AI art. It’s the next phase, it must be embraced and harnessed. But I do remember in my time directing how much I hated working with some artists. They were petulant, slow to deliver and bad at following directions. I suspect they now hate AI art

Tried Readout recently. A native macOS app that visualizes your Claude Code environment in real time. Agents, sessions, repos, costs, MCP, ports, plus instant global search and full session replays with timeline playback. All local, no account, very polished for a beta.
