This interview with @mer__edith was 18 kinds of wonderful: Both an engaging tour of her POV and as a distillation of key ideas which animate her work. Can’t think of anything I’ve read recently which articulates the stakes of this moment in time as well as this conversation did…

For the 10th birthday of Signal, I did a Big Interview with its president @mer__edith. We ended up talking about how her focus for Signal goes beyond encryption or privacy, to creating an alternative to surveillance capitalism—or even capitalism, period. wired.com/story/meredith…

#Juneteenth celebrates the day Black slaves in Texas were finally informed of their freedom. While the emancipation proclamation technically freed them, knowledge of their rights materially liberated them. Today, the far-right wants to rob us of our history, our truth, our power.

@egnyteops Hey — Any additional details on the current outage? Have clients asking what type of issue this is so they can calibrate with their team.

Think there’s a more interesting conversation about “Roadrunner” to be had — which @mariabustillos really gets at in this @Eater piece: eater.com/22583492/antho… (And if you’ve seen the doc, her Blade Runner reference will make you LOL… )

Here's an idea: Why don't we internationally agree to define the boundary of space as 10,000 metres That way, billionaires with expensive airplanes won't gain any cred in reaching some arbitrary place in the sky, and anyone who's flown internationally will have been to space
Blue Origin@blueorigin

From the beginning, New Shepard was designed to fly above the Kármán line so none of our astronauts have an asterisk next to their name. For 96% of the world’s population, space begins 100 km up at the internationally recognized Kármán line.
