Vancouverites deserve a summertime fireworks celebration.
At City Hall, we were incredibly disappointed to learn of the cancellation of the 2026 Celebration of Light.
The Celebration of Light is not an ordinary concert or festival, it’s the largest community event in BC. It’s free, it’s family friendly, and a significant contributor to the local economy.
That's why I'm excited to be bringing forward a motion to Council that will see the City of Vancouver dedicate $2 million towards a one time, one night fireworks celebration in Summer 2026!

Watching the @VSB39 delegation meeting last night, I was shocked at how the Board treated a young person who came to speak. They were intimidated, rushed and it looked like Trustees were not interested in their ideas. Feeling motivated to change things at the Board table!

Superbad turned 18 yesterday & I don’t know where the time went. Without question, this is one of the funniest in-theater experiences of my life. We quoted this film almost daily when I was in high school. The fact this film started the careers of multiple Oscar nominees is wild.
