@CathyYoung63 What I did know was -- The fight against segregation in housing was effectively fought by sending out 'fake apartment seekers' posing as renters to catch apartment managers behaving in a discriminatory manner. These were test cases for the Fair Housing Act.

@CathyYoung63 I didn't know. I'm a transit rider. The bus is my method of getting to UCLA several times weekly.

We have literally been lied to about everything Matt Walsh “The Rosa Parks story you were taught in school was fake too. This was not just some woman on her way home from work. Civil rights leaders thought Parks would make a sympathetic face for their lawsuit and then told her, a longtime NAACP volunteer, to create a situation where she'd be arrested. This gets sold to the public as totally organic when actually it's playacting to create ideal conditions for a court case or scandal. The iconic photo of Parks on the bus was staged months after the incident as part of a press campaign. (The photo is shown in the clip) The white man, sitting behind her in the bus photo was a journalist, which you probably didn't know.” Let’s fact check this. It’s 100% true What Actually Happened on December 1, 1955 Rosa Parks was a longtime NAACP volunteer and secretary of the Montgomery chapter. She had been deeply involved in civil rights activism for years (including work on cases like the Recy Taylor rape and voter registration efforts). She was not just a random tired seamstress on her way home from work who spontaneously refused to move. Local civil rights leaders had been looking for a strong test case to challenge bus segregation. They even had people cast for the role before Rosa Parks. Earlier attempts include 15 year old Claudette Colvin were passed over because leaders felt Rosa Parks, a mature, respected, married woman with a spotless reputation, would be a more sympathetic plaintiff in court and to the public The Iconic Photo was 100% staged The famous photo was taken on December 21, 1956, this is over a year after her arrest and on the first day the buses were integrated after the Supreme Court ruling It was deliberately staged by journalists, Look Magazine and UPI, for a press campaign to dramatize the victory The white man sitting behind her is Nicholas Chriss, a UPI reporter, not a random angry passenger or segregationist

Bienvenidas y bienvenidos.

When a Vermont woman battling terminal cancer longed for one last taste of her favorite meal, tempura broccoli from Ekiben in Baltimore, her son in law reached out just for the recipe. Instead, chef Steve Chu drove 6 hours with his team, set up fryers outside her home, and cooked it fresh for her in the parking lot.

In 1957, Marlon Green, an Air Force pilot, applied to be a Continental Airlines pilot. Green had applied to other airlines but was rejected each time. When he filled out his application for Continental, he left the “race” box unchecked. Green made it to the final round of interviews but was not hired, even though he had more flight time than the other candidates who were white. Green filed a complaint with the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Commission, a landmark case that ended up in the United States Supreme Court which ruled in Greens favor and helped dismantle racial discrimination in the American passenger airline industry. While David Harris was the first Black pilot hired with a major airline, Marlon Green’s fight for the right to be in the flight deck cleared a path for generations of Black pilots to come. In 2010, Continental dedicated a 737 named for Captain Marlon Green. The aircraft, N77518, still flies for United today. Thank you, Marlon Green for your contributions towards Black History and paving the way for many to follow 🧑🏾‍✈️✈️

@Kr27ja @_j0sh_a_ On Oct 7th, ≈1200 people were murdered when Hamas and some of it's personal journalists crossed the border into Israel carrying out a massacre they livestreamed.  Most of those killed were Jews. Some were Druze and Muslim Israelis. Some were from Nepal, Tanzania, Philippines.

@ViDevi2 @_j0sh_a_ A fair number of them women and children, and they're still being killed ruthlessly and mercilessly. Someone mentions October 7 victims? You can counter with Palestinians killed that same day-any day in the last 2.5 years.

😂 This “Nakba Survivor” is literally a “European settler” In the late 19th century, Muslim Bosnians (including Inea’s grandparents), fled Bosnia to Ottoman Syria, after Austria-Hungary took control of Bosnia. They feared that now, the Christians will seek revenge after years of mistreatment. Inea’s father’s family lived in Tulkaram, but he himself lived in Jerusalem where Inea was born. In the 1930’s, Inea’s father had a Job in England, he returned to Mandatory Palestine after a few years, but in 1948 they decided to move back to England. They were not expelled, and no one forced them to move to England. As a matter of fact, Tulkaram, and the old city of Jerusalem remained under Jordanian Arab control. Not a single Zionist to bee seen there. So in summary, this is a European with no strong roots in the land of Israel, whose family made the decision to immigrate back to the continent of their grandparents instead of remaining under Arab control. (And the “visit Palestine” poster on her wall is a Zionist poster by Franz Kraus to encourage Zionist tourism to the holy land. It’s not even the original poster, but a replica of the poster, with an additional Hebrew description mentioning his name 🤦‍♂️)

Today marks Nakba Day, an annual day of remembrance to commemorate the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians between 1947 and 1949 during the creation of the State of Israel and the year that followed. Inea is a New Yorker and a Nakba survivor. She shared her story with us — one of home, tradition and memory over generations.

@Kr27ja @_j0sh_a_ 70,000 have unfortunately been killed, a fair number of them active combatants.  The numbers could increase somewhat as the building rubble is investigated, but by few.  People have already *calculated in* the figures of who is sadly missing from their families.

@Kr27ja @_j0sh_a_ Couple days ago Hamas Commander Izz al-Din al-Haddad was killed.  You can add him into your calculations. Haddad was one of the last surviving Hamas senior commanders who directed the planning and execution of the October 7, 2023 Massacre.

@Kr27ja @_j0sh_a_ It's you who are the hater in denial. It's popular now for everyone to love their culture, embrace their language, be proud of their origins. Somehow haters can not see fit to apply this to Jews. Propagandists spread the lie that Jews have no history, no land of origin.

@Kr27ja @_j0sh_a_ False accusations. Wherever the few surviving Jews would have gone, post WW2, they would have been accused of displacing others. They would not have been native to US/Canada/Australia. (just as other immigrants are NOT). Some hater like you, would have always accused them.

@elydia351 @_j0sh_a_ Further, what are you even talking about with "wrong religion". Slightly over 20% of Israelis are Muslim. The nation has mosques everywhere. They are citizens. They practice their religion.

@elydia351 @_j0sh_a_ Ah look! Elydia "The not native Brazilian" has arrived to accuse other people of stealing land. You can bet Elydia is not native to Brazil. I've come down river from Peru's Amazonas into Brazil and seen. So much land was stolen by Elydia and her relatives.

@Kr27ja @_j0sh_a_ Jews didn't "leave Palestine" During that time one Empire after another conquered this land, displacing Jews. Who even believes this nonsense that one culture is a *conqueror* while other cultures/empires 'lovingly' step into other peoples lands with kindness.

@ViDevi2 @_j0sh_a_ I'm Czech. Some sources say my ancestors left Croatia around 5th century. Jews left Palestine in 70 CE. So by the logic of 'shorter time since departure = stronger claim', we'd have a stronger claim to Croatia than Jews have to Palestine. Let's displace them, we miss the sea!

@Kr27ja @_j0sh_a_ I was born in Los Angeles. At university, daily, before the start of class, I, and most others, are told by our professors to do land acknowledgements because we are not native here. But sure, Bosnians are native to Palestine.
