@EMostaque @SpaceX what's stopping them from doing a couple more deals like this before IPO?

I think SpaceX basically has access to infinite money at this point, and I'm happy about that, it's more money that will be used to take humanity to the stars.

Wow, Anthropic has agreed to pay @SpaceX $1.25 billion per month through May 2029 for AI compute capacity, with capacity ramping in May and June 2026 at a reduced fee. Huge deal

@VraserX I like how SpaceXAI can now keep building bigger and bigger AI clusters to train the next generation of Grok, and either Grok takes off and they have the compute to serve it or it doesn't and they rent out the compute. either way they make a shit ton of money

Musk is going to rent out compute like crazy. First Anthropic, soon probably half the industry. I’d even bet OpenAI ends up buying from him at some point. The money will be insane. Compute is the new oil.

@PTrubey xAI can keep taking bigger swings by building larger AI clusters for future Grok models. If Grok takes off, they have the compute to scale it. If not, they can rent the excess compute to other labs. Either way, the infrastructure gives them multiple paths to success. Pretty cool

SpaceXAI selling compute to Anthropic: Something you often see investing in early stage companies is a rapid evolution. You thought they were going to do X, but they pivoted to Y since the market really wanted Y. Turns out the competitive advantage xAI has isn’t building frontier models, it’s building data centers. Grok isn’t bad, many describe it as frontier quality, but the market doesn’t need another frontier model. But even though there are a plethora of people building data centers, xAI can do it much better than everyone else. There, they reign supreme. And with the SpaceX merger, it’s obvious they are going to continue building data centers as a product, on the ground or in space. People forget that xAI is still truly an early stage startup. It isn’t surprising to see such a pivot.

elon was right when he said frontier lab is the highest elo game in the world. the teams are incredibly good. few months of delay here and there can cost the entire game. whole thing is extra nerve wracking because most of the parties involved expect infinite consequences

I'm obsessed with @uniqlo ever since my luggage got lost in a trip to Tokyo and i had to buy a completely new wardrobe Amazing basics across their airism and heattech lines, the former great for hot Austin Summer, the latter great for lake Tahoe winters Fabric technology is just insane! @morganlinton This problem should be fixed by Monday. Bear in mind, you’re using an early access beta of Grok Build. This is not production software.

So I was able to get Grok Build to run overnight, which I was excited about when I woke up this morning. And Grok said it built everything in the plan, and a Production-grade version of the feature had been completed. While I do get excited when models say something like this, I also need to verify to see if it's actually correct. Unfortunately, not in this case. Just did a code review with Cursor + Composer 2.5. It looks like out of the 4 passes, pass 1 was completed, pass 2 started, pass 3 - 4 not done. I'll need to go back to Grok Build now and tell it that it didn't actually complete the overnight build and get things back on the rails here now. This isn't too crazy IMO, important to remember that Grok Build is only one week old, and it has been getting better by the day. Now back to Grok to get it to finish what it started!

CURSOR 🔥: A newly released Composer 2.5 performs on par with Opus 4.7 and comes with up to 10x better cost efficiency. > It's more intelligent, better at sustained work on long-running tasks, and more reliable at following complex instructions. Usage limits will be doubled for Composer 2.5 over the next week.

Introducing Composer 2.5, our most powerful model yet. It's more intelligent, better at sustained work on long-running tasks, and more reliable at following complex instructions. For the next week, we’re doubling the included usage of the model.

Composer 2.5 is built on top of Kimi K2.5 Also interesting 👀 > Together with SpaceXAI, we're training a significantly larger model from scratch, using 10x more total compute. With Colossus 2's million H100-equivalents and our combined data and training techniques, we expect this to be a major leap in model capability.

Soon @xai will become a real contender in agentic AI coding, and @cursor_ai may be a big reason why. The two pieces to xAI’s success: 1. Grok Build, xAI’s new coding agent and CLI. 2. Grok V9 1.5T, the next-gen foundation model Elon Musk says is already looking strong before Cursor data is added in supplemental training. Put those together and the path gets interesting: a dedicated coding agent, massive xAI compute, and high-quality real-world coding data from Cursor. That could let xAI close the gap much faster than people expect.

Cursor people in SpaceXAI, please take note. Your friends made vim works beautifully in Grok Build CLI. Vim never works in the Cursor app. Every once in a while, I download the newest Cursor app, just to see its vim binding is still miserable 😒
