Escape to the Country, series 24, episode 49. Suffolk (yay!) 🥳🎉 Simon and Debs (Debs has a VERY annoying voice) are retiring soon and want to move from Essex to Suffolk. They have a budget of 1.2 million. 😲 Simon wants a Georgian property near water for sailing. Debs wants a modern property with a large garden, loads of wardrobe space and a room for her sewing machine. As the production team obviously haven't been listening, Simon and Debs are shown 4 properties, none of which are near water for sailing. Despite Suffolk having 50 miles of coastline and numerous navigable rivers, this requirement has passed the team by. 🙄 Property 1 is just outside Stowupland - nowhere near the coast. It's reached down a long driveway and it's a converted barn in 3 acres. So neither Georgian for Simon, nor modern for Debs. 🙄 But it's beautiful. And it should be for 1.1 million. Property 2 is in Lawshall. No water nearby for poor Simon. ☹️😢 It's an idyllic thatched cottage with fabulous interior and an acre of garden. It's Tudor. Not Georgian nor modern. Property 3 is just outside Debenham. Simon's water is but a distant dream. It's another barn conversion in an acre of land for 1.1 million. Property 4 is the mystery house in Offton. The mystery being why haven't they shown Simon any properties anywhere near water. 🧐🤔. However, this one is a modern house that looks Georgian. Phew. It has 5 bedrooms and an acre for 995,000. Simon and Debs meet the presenter the next day to tell her that 2 houses are worth a second viewing - properties 2 and 3. However, as the credits are rolling, we're told Simon and Debs have found a house for themselves in Framlingham. So, not coastal and not near a navigable river but, to my horror, near me. 😤😫 Wait......I'm sure that's Debs' annoying voice I hear ...😜🤣

@DHSCgovuk Perhaps you might focus on the current cohort just finishing medical school/starting FY1 who don't have jobs to go into? Or the scarcity of training places in both primary and secondary care? These are problems *right now* which contribute to loss of doctors from the UK.

When Junior Doctors are on £16 an hour and MP's are on £46 an hour. And raising the Junior Doctors pay by £4 an hour is unaffordable, even though they just raised MP's pay by £5 an hour. It's hard not to see the lie. RT if Junior Doctors NEED paying.
