A great way to see Van Gogh's "Starry Night" is to stare at the center of the spiral for 20 seconds and then look at the painting. Why Starry Night was so famous: bit.ly/49VNzyl

The first woman to be awarded a Nobel Prize, the first individual to be awarded two Nobel Prizes and still today the only individual with two Nobel Prizes in two different scientific categories: Marie Skłodowska Curie. Skłodowska Curie developed the term radioactivity, discovered the chemical elements polonium and radium and contributed to develop new cancer treatments. For her scientific dedication and remarkable breakthroughs, she was awarded the 1903 physics prize and the 1911 chemistry prize. Learn more: bit.ly/4qGyRS1 #InternationalWomensDay

🌱 let's plant trees! One tree can store 1 ton of CO2 in its lifetime & clean air for 4 people daily. Forests slash urban heat by up to 15°F & trap 70% of dust pollution! Join the Green Revolution to save our planet! 🌍 #PlantTrees #FightClimateChange

Vincent loved nature and was often found outside painting or drawing. 🌳 Naturally, many animals appear in his work! 🐈🦉🦀 Which one is your favourite?

🌳 The Secret Life of the Walking Palm! 🌳 Did you know there's a tree that can literally take a stroll? Well, sort of. Meet the Walking Palm (Socratea exorrhiza), found in the rainforests of Central and South America. Here's why it's the coolest tree on the block: - Moves Over Time: This tree has stilt roots that allow it to slowly 'move' towards sunlight. When one side of the tree gets more light, the roots on that side grow stronger, while the roots on the shaded side die off, effectively shifting the tree's location over years. It's not Usain Bolt, but for a tree, it's pretty swift! - A Tree with Legs: Imagine a tree with legs, like nature's own version of a giant spider or an ent from "Lord of the Rings". These stilt roots not only help it move but also provide support in the soft, often flooded soil of the rainforest. - Insect Architects: Local folklore says that the tree's movement can be attributed to the insects and animals that make homes in its roots, subtly guiding its direction. While not scientifically accurate, it sure makes for a whimsical tale! - Survival Artist: This ability to shift location helps it survive in an environment where light and space are premium real estate. Talk about adapt or die, this tree took it to the next level! So, next time you're feeling lazy, just remember: there's a tree out there putting in more steps than you. Share this post, and let's make the Walking Palm the most famous tree on the internet - because if trees could have celebrities, this one would be walking the red carpet! 🌴✨ #TreeTrivia #NatureIsAmazing #WalkingPalm #ViralNature

This extraordinary illustration, titled Wild World, is a hand-drawn global map created by artist and cartographer Anton thomas. Instead of political borders and city names, the map highlights wildlife, placing animals in their native habitats across every continent and ocean. Over the course of three years, Thomas meticulously illustrated 1, 642 species using coloured pencil and pen. Each animal is positioned according to its natural range, transforming the familiar shape of the world into a celebration of biodiversity. By removing human boundaries and focusing on ecosystems, the map offers a powerful reminder that the planet is shared space. It invites us to see geography not just as nations and borders, but as living habitats that connect species across land and sea.

Did you know that planting just one tree can have the cooling effect of ten room-sized air conditioners? Trees not only help combat climate change by absorbing CO2 but also significantly reduce urban heat islands, making cities cooler and more livable. Imagine the impact of millions of trees! Every tree you plant is a step towards a healthier planet. Trees are nature's air purifiers, oxygen suppliers, and climate regulators. They enhance biodiversity, reduce noise pollution, and increase property values. Plus, they're a legacy for future generations, offering shade, beauty, and a connection to nature. So, let's dig in and plant trees for a greener, cooler, and more vibrant world! 🌳🌍💚 For those who dont have the time or space, check out the treemissions website link in bio, and we can plant on your behalf. #PlantATreeToday #Reforestation #ClimateChange #ActOnClimate #TreePlanting #Trees #Climate #GlobalWarming

Did you know that planting a single tree can provide a day's supply of oxygen for up to four people? That's right, trees are the unsung heroes of our planet, quietly producing the very air we breathe. And if you're thinking, "But I don't have the time or space to plant a tree," fear not! Organizations like Treemissions are here to save the day. They'll plant a tree on your behalf so you can feel good about your carbon footprint without lifting a finger (or a shovel). It's like having a green thumb without the green thumbprint. #Trees #PlantingTrees #ClimateChange #Deforestation #Reforestation
