@TheRealHoarse A Christmas gift from my daughter-in-law’s parents. I’m so happy to see it still thriving. Green thumb I have not.

Thursday, March 26, 2026 6:41 PM: The latest water vapor satellite shows a rapidly intensifying low pressure axis of a 552 DM low approximately 345 miles northwest of the Hawaiian islands.
At the same time, we have another storm axis that’s emerging just to the east of Hawaii, which was part of the storm that brought a lot of rain to the region. Now this storm has really tapped into an intensification process in the last 24 to 36 hours that honestly, the models are not picking up on for California. Kind of an interesting situation here to see how this is going to unfold.
Now we are expecting some rain next week into central and southern California, and especially northern California, but the question is how much rainfall will we be getting because of this latest atmospheric view showing this rapidly developing storm situation.
I think we just got to keep watch on how this will develop in the next several days, but I wanted to be brutally honest with you regarding what is happening with the atmosphere right now especially as it crosses into ongoing warming of the pacific sea surface temperatures. #CAwx

@shillman1 I remember the 1979 major gas shortage that followed the Iranian Revolution, leading to odd-even license plate rationing in some areas. I worked at a a large retail store similar to Walmart of today that had a gas station. Employees lined up in the dark after hours to get gas.

@jason61987 I scheduled a car detail for that week just so we could get some rain! 😬😳😵💫. Ugh!

@morgfair Southern California since 1968. In all my voting age days, I’ve never received more than one ballot. I’ve been married and divorced twice so including my maiden name, I’ve had 3 different last names - and have never received more than one ballot.

Funny… I’ve lived in California since 1977, and I have NEVER received more than one ballot. Any other Californians out there? More than one ballot??
Aaron Rupar@atrupar
Trump: "You go to California, they send out like 38 million ballots. Some Democrats get 7, 8 ballots. Republicans are a lot of times calling in, 'Where's my ballot? Where's my ballot?' They're lucky to get one."

@jason61987 This was the temperature reading in my car at about 2:15pm yesterday as I exited the freeway and pulled into a parking lot in Cerritos, Ca.

Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 7:42 AM: Those who wanted to debunk that the warming of the Pacific is not happening well you can go fly a kite. You can clearly see that the North Pacific is warming.
This is the latest guidance EU one for the upcoming summertime also showing El Niño, which will definitely change the weather across Hawaii, California, Arizona, New Mexico, and definitely affect a favorable hurricane season trajectory for low-grade tropical systems coming up Baja California into the desert southwest. Now it is good to note that we will get more rain because of the continued warming of the Pacific and the combination of an El Niño taking shape.
If you think it’s hot now in March, in the southwest including Los Angeles, California wait until summertime hits. We may be dealing with significant record-breaking temperatures however, not all El Niños are alike so things can also be the complete opposite.
As the El Niño continues to form off the coast of Peru, more details will come into play, but for right now the north Pacific is warmer than average and has influenced the weather in the Hawaiian islands in California already with above average rainfall this winter season, but also a very warm winter 15 - 25 degrees above normal multiple times. #CAwx #ElNino

@shillman1 I’ve been saying that since before I reached voting age! I have my dad to thank for that.
