A transgender teenager won a German chess tournament, and now some numpties are calling for a ban on trans girls in women's chess. What does this have to do with fairness? Can anyone give me an answer that doesn't assume women and girls are less intelligent than men?

The 1951 Refugee Convention - drafted with leadership from British politicians - ensured the right for people at risk of persecution to seek asylum in states outside of their own. An MP has no right to decide otherwise. No matter how many times he repeats himself.

These are not all 'psychopaths'. The only underlying correlation is that the perpetrators of these are all violent men. Address the underlying issue if you are serious about ending these recurring forms of male violence.

Westminster Bridge. Finsbury Park. Jo Cox. David Amess. All of those attacks were carried out by self-radicalised single psychopaths. The PM is being disingenuous by calling this a new threat. I made this very point to the Home Secretary at yesterday's statement 👇🏻

@RupertLowe10 As the author of many articles and books about women seeking asylum, can I suggest you look into the reduction of family reunification rights, and the role of gendered political persecution. Or read. Or - even better - speak to people seeking asylum.

I sit in Westminster, listening to politicians bang on about these 'desperate' asylum seekers and I just think - am I losing my mind? Look at the pictures, look at the facts. These are not women and children fleeing war and persecution. The overwhelming majority of these individuals are men. Young foreign men. Most of whom are from alien cultures which hold no respect for our way of life or British values. They are not genuine asylum seekers, they are illegal migrants. How can anyone in the right mind look at these boats packed full of blokes and sincerely believe that these are people we should be welcoming into our country, no questions asked? We have NO idea who they are - as few as one in 50 have passports when they are picked up. How many are criminals? How many are terrorists? We do NOT know. Inserting these men into communities around the UK is total and utter INSANITY. Can you imagine what these people think of us? Free accommodation, food, upkeep, healthcare, recreational activities. Is it a surprise thousands and thousands more want to follow in their footsteps? The boats should be turned around. Those who do arrive should be securely detained and deported as swiftly as possible. Nobody who comes illegally stays, nobody here illegally stays. I do not want these men in our country.

A defining moment of this trial: #GisèlePelicot, in her final time on the stand, addressed her decision to keep the surname "Pelicot": "When the trial began, my children were 'ashamed' of the name. I have grandchildren called that. I want them proud. My name is known worldwide now. They shouldn't be ashamed. Today we will remember Gisèle Pelicot."
