Tonight at St Edmundsbury Cathedral we receive the Bury Psalter dating from around 1400 into our keeping. An incredible treasure which represents the voice of the church, the prayerbook of the bible.

Enjoyed reading and reviewing this book by David Wilkinson who asks some big questions about science and theology. No easy answers! Book review: How Does God Act in the World? Science, miracle and mission (The Didsbury Lecture Series) by David Wilkinson churchtimes.co.uk/articles/2025/…

I read that the Archbishop will be 'installed', not 'enthroned'. Another well-intentioned error, I fear. Of course we need the united collaboration of the quire. But we need a leader, too; with vision and authority. Such people sit on thrones. And such thrones let people thrive.

Finding inspiration in the Psalms: food for the Christian journey Reflecting here on the vital place of the psalms in the spiritual life and within the life of the church ⬇️ If your church does not attend to the psalms, you might ask, why not? churchtimes.co.uk/articles/2025/…

It was a joy to share my love of Handel’s Messiah in the daily service this morning, this week exploring the arts and how they can deepen our spiritual lives. It’s a piece of music that has changed my life…#Hallelujah Thanks ⁦@AndrewEarisbbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0…

A most stunning sermon preached at my ordination to the diaconate. My sending incumbent recounts that the 1st confirmation he attended after his own diaconate ordination, the then Bishop of Durham, John Habgood, also preached a sermon on keys and vocation. youtube.com/live/0Upobz_S7…

Back to preach @ManCathedral @DioManchester for the ordination of deacons. Wonderful to return to this great city to reflect on the vocation of the church to open doors. Not knowing when the dawn will come, I open every door. Emily Dickinson.
