It's mix of clan & low quality education & leadership.
Somalis despite being clan society, will generally follow leadership with quality. However, there's no quality leadership so they stick to the clan for protection.
Also, education is non-existent.

I bought this 1796 map of Africa for $165 in New York in 2024. It shows the African kingdoms that existed before colonialism. I can’t work out whether Zambia was part of the Jaga or Catango or Monomatapa kingdoms. This is what we should be teaching our kids in school.

What your focus should be is the residents. There’s mass unemployment to combat, the education institutions needs to be centralized within the state, too much privatization. The healthcare system needs major regulation & there’s too much human capital wasted!
You need to change the materiality of Somalis within set state!

Federalism is not a shield for regional power grabs, nor a license for FMS to behave like parallel sovereignties. In any functioning federation, regional autonomy exists within a framework of national authority and constitutional supremacy. Federal units are meant to share power, but not to fortify themselves against the state that gives them legal existence.

What the president’s statement ultimately reveals is that the state is more concerned with managing its appearance than addressing its internal contradictions. It reflects an elite oriented system shaped by global perception rather than grounded accountability to its own population.
The absence/failure of functioning mechanisms of justice forces Somalis to rely on public exposure as a last resort, where grievances are made visible, and pressure can be applied.

public criticism is not the problem, it is a response to institutional failure. Your attempt to discourage it only reveals the very deficits the people are bringing to light.

2. Pioneer finalization of binding constitution & subordinate PL to the federal gov't.
He won't cut 🇦🇪 off or accept subordination. He wants PL to be independent of federal authority for as long as he's there.

If @HESaidADeni wants to become the president of Somalia, which I think he could potentially pull off in 2031, he needs to drop some of the people currently on his bandwagon and bring in more strategic political players. He needs a team that can help polish and elevate him as a national politician. These next four years running Puntland can be a game changer for him.
Somali politics has matured slightly, and the same old tactics are not going to work anymore. @HassanSMohamud is a step ahead of many of them because he recognized how the game has changed.
