She is only able to crawl, and her medical condition places her at high risk of malnutrition and illness. Her situation reflects the vulnerability of many children in these camps who require additional nutritional attention. The meals consisted of schnitzel sandwiches with ketchup, mayonnaise, and pickles. While simple, these meals are essential for families living in displacement and facing severe food insecurity. In total on May 7, 3,000 schnitzel sandwiches were produced by our The Sameer Project Kitchen. The cost per sandwich was $2.70, bringing the total cost after commission fees to $8,086. This is an enormous daily expense, and donations have gone down, forcing us to close the kitchen on some days. That means more than 3,000 people will not have access to food when we do.
