@takeatoothbrush We use stretched parafilm to make a bag and placed it on a petri dish on a heating block keeping it at 37°C. I had to feed an hour before the lights turned back on in the morning. We rub the bag over our arm and breath air over it once it is in the cage. Watch out with garlic...

My mosquitoes (lab-reared Anopheles stephensi) aren't feeding on membrane feeders anymore, and I'm not sure why. Tried with new and frozen cow blood and different membrane. Out of ideas. Help? #entomology #mosquitoes #medicalentomology #insects #ScienceTwitter

@OlmVirus We use plastic trays of 45 x 30 x 7.5 cm filled with 5L tap water which we cover with nettings (made with sheer curtain and an elastic cord sewed in). We use this modified children's toy to catch insects which we prolonged with a plastic tube to reach the back of the tray.

Entomologist of Twitter! More specific people who grow mosquitoes from larvae to adult. What kind of "facilities" do you use? 🤔 Currently I use plastic bags which are useful in their own way but capturing adult mosquitoes is a tricky thing. Any ideas how I could improve this? 🤔
